Never thought I would say this but Hunters are weak to me now. In my opinion Hunters are as far from a guardian than the other 2 classes, they cannot protect you(No shields, No rift). It was good while it lasted, I had a good run with the class from D1 all the way to Forsaken...poking things with a knife, using a dodge with a cooldown that bothers me. I know it's a video game, but how are their hoods able to stay on the heads in combat it looks weird. I used to despise warlocks but now not as much as hunters. When the real Darkness arrives, who will you run to for protection?...certainly not cocky, restless, selfish Masters of the Frontier. Just ask Cadye-6...that man got molested by the Scorn. Put a Titan or Warlock in that same scenario and they would survive.

2 RepliesWhat is with all the “Hunters suck” posts lately. I ran Hunter all day, didn’t have any problems. Then again, I tend to play to the Hunter’s strengths so maybe I wasn’t trying to be a Titan or Warlock and die because of it...
-
Hunters are the best class. They don’t rely on gimmicks like healing rifts and shields. Idk how many warlocks I’ve killed when they’re trying to throw a healing rift down

5 RepliesNah tether still spanks enemies and generates orbs like no other but good luck catching any hunter running it now.

Sorry, but 🙄

Hunters like to use their guns.

1 ReplyIt's the low armor, paired with the lack of utility, overall (Overall as in the majority of Hunter Kits) lack of support abilities, long cooldowns, & basic (in design & art) supers. Titan are the best class in the game (as a Warlock main I'm begrudging to admit this). They are the most balanced so I won't touch too much on them. Been this way since D1 really. Warlocks have base enhanced recovery to help them make up for their low armor & mobility. As long as a Warlock can get to cover they have a fighting chance at surviving. Titans can take most damage thrown their way until they reach cover due to their high base Resilience. Hunters just have Mobility which is nice but with low Recovery & Resilience it's not enough. Yes the arguement of "A Hunter can get to Cover faster than a Titan or Warlock. But...moving fast isn't enough when that Titan can take 4-8 shots & the Warlock can take 3-5 shots while running to cover vs the Hunter who is lucky to survive 3 shots. Additionally a Warlock can throw down a Heal when in serious trouble & a Titan can throw down literal cover. Hunters can dodge but its moot when its cooldown is what counts as forever in game time. Add in that the dodge doesn't evade explosions or AoE effects. Hunter dodge should impo be replaced with literal Invisibility or its time needs to be well extremely short like maybe every 2-3 seconds. A Hunter should be able to roll (dodge) its way to safety (in PVE) & a skilled hunter should be able to dodge a shot, fire a shot, dodge the next shot, fire back, dodge the next shot, melee or finishing shot, & etc. Chain dodging is harmless in PVE. PVP wise yes....the time would need to be different as many Hunters would abuse the roll. If we can even call that abuse...it sorta is skill.... Super wise their Supers are boring in art & execution. Hunters use weapons of light which impo feels meh. A Gun of Solar light which "happens" to resemble The Last Word. A Dagger in D1 (Bladedancer) which is now a Valkrie *ahem* a staff but filled with Arc Energy. A Bow (I can't place its base model though) of Shadow that tethers (the most creative of the Supers mechanically speaking impo) enfeebled, & cancels abilities. Post Forsaken they gain a Fan of Knives (or FoK as we call it in MMORPGs. Atleast now Hunters can say "We can FoK you up.") which is beautifully animated. Dual Shadow Knives (currently no in-game weapon model for these atleast yet they have terrible hit scan...hmm coincidence? And the ability to block with the Valkr...Staff. My issue here is all the supers minus Way of the Wraith use in game items that have a light (glowy) shader on then & aren't very unique. These feel lazy impo compared to a Slam of Electric energy that is like a Ballistic Missle in both blast area & animation. A Dome of impenetrable energy. (Utility!) Flaming Thor Hammers that can be either a Great Hammer in size or smaller but both look, sound, & hit like Anti-Tank rounds. I admit the Shield looks very lackluster but it's unique in feel as their are no shields in game at all (pretty sure it uses the assets of the Relic from VoG). A Literal Energy Bomb, Sith Lightning, a Kamehameha, Shadow infused Fist of Havoc, & a Flaming Sword which manages to be Epic in execution & animation yet boring in concept & execution (A sword that is never used/not meant to be used for it's intended purpose... Why not make it literal Fireballs? Warlocks are mages no? I digress. The art & sound is superb though!) It's hard to compete with all that if you think about it. For new players the other classes just come across as "cooler" due to the supers. Hunters aesthetically look cooler than a Warlock or Titan at the very least. In execution their Supers also are more fluid but that's because they are using weapons players are accustomed to. I'm NOT shitting on Hunters btw. I want them to get better treatment, more utility, & more creative Supers.

Edited by Fury: 9/30/2018 7:11:21 AMSo in the blind well... I can take down Ogres by myself using Hunter's new blades super... and I am weak? Not to mention - with the exotic arms, I get my super back almost instantly? Did you not get your third seed of light yet? Maybe its the tether where you can create 4 orbs within seconds, repeatedly. OR, the tether that traps enemies to save your team's lives running around a boatload of mini adds. You know, I forgot the new super that allows a hunter to repel ANY damage incoming... what a joke. Yeah, hunters suck. (Do not worry fellow Titans, I am still a Titan-main forever) LOL

Sorry but no. Being able to have a more accessible debuff with more uptime than melting point and being able to spread it on multiple enemies is amazing. and blade barrage is stupid good burst. Probs nighthawk is the only one that can out burst it. Even the neutral in pve with spathe is nutty dps wise.

2 RepliesThis thread is a joke right?

2 RepliesOne thing I should say first off: Blade Barrage That super melts bosses in pretty much any mode, and it's a nightmare in PvP. Tempted to level my hunter a bit more and get it as soon as possible. Need I mention that the whole subclass path is great too? Haven't seen much with the other two paths, but the invisibility is much more useful than most people think. Seen a lot of hunters camp in corners, too, but I don't complain about that, just slowly turn around them more often now. Really, I still don't understand why the shadow knife super is getting its hit detection fixed, but the sentinel shield still hasn't gotten a fix yet.

2 RepliesI agree, a short while ago I started asking friends who play Destiny and even some randoms that I encountered to check their emblem Victorious Veteran. I asked them to tell me which subclass they had defeated in crucible the most. I did not have a single person who had Titans or Warlocks as most subclass defeated, every time it was Hunters at the top, Titans in middle, and Warlocks at the bottom. And this is not just by a few, but 1000+. A friend of mine brought up a good point saying, well maybe it is because more people are playing as hunters in crucible, but when I used Destiny Tracker to see how many of each subclass were playing crucible it was fairly even across the board. I am a hunter main and still refuse to give up on it, but anyone with half a brain can clearly see the odds are stacked against them.

I like hunters still, I basically just use orphius rigs on both :)) my bova bomb has orphius rig, I like my super..

Blade barrage begs to differ

Left my hunter for my warlock around solstice, it’s a way more fun and useful class I am sad to say.
