I've been hearing people saying "Is Buck in Reach?" here and there. I'm here to point out he is in Reach in the level "New Alexandria" and here how it goes:
At some point in the level, you would hear communications that you would need to escort a Falcon to a helipad. During the communications, you would hear Buck's voice.
By the time you reach to Buck's plane you would need to escort him to safety and shoot some Banshees. The cool thing during this part is that the Background music is the battle theme for "Halo 3: ODST" (the drum beats)
Once you reach the helipad, (which is right next to a collapsing building I'd figure that's "safe") an ODST climbs out. That's Buck.
The cool part is to follow Buck into the building. After a few seconds in Buck talks and quote:
"Thanks, Spartan. See you in hell!"
That was totally messed up! He dissapears and the door behind you locks up.

Aye, I tried following him, but he just disappears. He looks like another ODST, but it in a way adds depth and strength to Buck. I was at Reach and lived, did you? I mean how many survived Reach? Near bugger all. Buck is in Reach game, but as a cameo at best. EDIT: At Buck's "I'll see you in Hell." They're Helljumpers; ODST's and Spartans, they want hell aka combat zone to be crowded, meaning more kills. ODST's need to be VERY respected, they're just better than average marines with a lot of courage. A spartan being an ODST just isn't the same. The gap between an ODST and a Spartan is amazing. Still, Fair play to Buck in lore, surviving Reach. [Edited on 09.25.2010 7:13 PM PDT]

So when Buck tells you he'll see you in Hell, he's telling the Spartan they're both gonna make sure it's damn crowded when the both die and go there. It's just a more badass way of saying kill 'em all.

It was good that he was in it, but it was bad execution. I find it would have been more suitable to be in the level before that. You know, with the group of ODST's, or escorting civilians out of the city?
