You Guys Using Clusters On Riven Are Truly Pathetic.
That fight is so well designed, so engaging and unique, I can only imagine the amount of effort it took to design such a beautiful encounter.
And you all just want to [b]shit[/b] all over it because you would rather get one powerful drop for basically nothing. Im honestly embarrassed by this community. Bungie has done so good by this dlc and I'm convinced at this point, the community is the true cancer that keeps this game from reaching greater heights.
Alot of people comparing this to one plating Calus. This is not the same at all. Imagine one plating calus WITHOUT ever setting foot in shadowrealm or collecting any skulls. That's exactly what this is.
It's not about using clusters, it's about using a joining ally glitch, and then burning down the boss in a way that wasn't intended allowing you to skip 80% of the encounters mechanics. Clusters just happen to be the tool used in this cheese this time. No one is using clusterbombs for a legit run so let's not feign ignorance to start an argument.

Imagine praising the shit out of a raids mechanics and trying to shit on people like you're some great sage, saying "they have to glitch", "joining allies", etc. Yet from the moment you start the encounter you can go to blue and kill riven... That's clearly intended, not patched, not "fixed", not changed. No glitches, no joining allies, no exploits. Just enough damage. YIKES FROM ME DOG! Can't be designed that well in your eyes if you can 1 phase her from the start of the encounter, in a completely normal/fair way. You're a joke, kiddo.

I mean you want to play a certain way, then do it. Nobody is saying you have to "cheese" the boss. So why does it bother you when others play the way they want to? The mere fact that you are on here dictating how others should play their games is the real tragedy here. Play how you want, and let others play how they want.

You do know you can do this without using the join ally glitch? You can do this legitimately just by running to a room and hoping its the right room, so I feel like you're argument is bunk. People have to do the work to hit 580 to be able to pull it off. power to them.

Do you see how dumb this argument can become? Yes, the cluster bomb rockets, [u]combined will 3 buffs and a debuff[/u], make quick work of a boss once you're at a high enough level. There's this nice little thing though, called "a change of pace" where you do something different to the norm, where you've spent the time mindlessly grinding, and just want to have some plain ol' dumb fun. If you already have the ability to make it to Riven to begin with, odds are you know what you're doing, and could probably do it legit. So why not, you ask? Because there's a simple pleasure in laughing at how stupid one phasing her with rockets is. Not everyone has to play the exact same way, and part of enjoying a raid in a video game, is [u][i][b]enjoying a video game[/b][/i][/u]. It doesn't de-value someone else doing it legit, just like how you doing the raid now doesn't de-value the poeple who did it day 1.

Flying across a void with a sword is “cheating the system”. Climbing the canyon walls and everyone jumping at the same time to prevent ads from spawning to skip an encounter is “cheating the system”. Huddling into a cavern during an entire phase is “cheating the system”. There were lots of “accepted” ways people continually “cheated the system” in Destiny 1. Using meta to melt a boss isn’t cheating the system, it’s playing the game with the tools provided without any exploits or glitches.

3 RepliesYou know what's pathetic? Whining on the forums because the community found a META that said whiner doesn't like. Wasting the "beautiful mechanics" of the encounter is because people will always try to do as quickly and efficiently as possible. Plus there's no actual exploit. No cord is being pulled, no grenades are being thrown to force the boss over the edge. It's just raw damage.

1 ReplyI don't know about you, but if there's an easier path to get the same end result, I'll always take it. That applies to everything, not just a boss encounter. Unless there's a tangible downside to taking a bottle of cheese whiz and spraying it at that giant whale-worm-dragon-snake, people will continue to do it forever and always. And that's not bad. What's bad is that this has existed for as long as it has. I'm not the kind of person who continually calls Bungie inept next to more modern game designers because of their release cycle, but the amount of updates we get in a month that actually fix problems we've been talking regularly about...

i would look more at whoever their testers are and tell them they gotta start playing the game by how to make every encounter as easy to beat as possible not by doing the actual mechanics but looking for things they can cheese. also this is more legit than despawning a boss theyre just using whats available to them with buffs/debuffs
