I had some dude tell me Blade Barrage is a crutch Super
I had a guy tell me Blade Barrage is a crutch Super because, and I quote, “it’s a insta kill Super that deals massive damage and is used constantly on single opponents because they panic and it’s really annoying to deal with.”
Think about the description the guy used for Blade Barrage.
Hmmm, doesn’t this sound EXACTLY like Nova Bomb and Fists of Havoc from the past 4 years of Destiny?
[spoiler]But seriously, I want to take a moment address something.
No matter what it is, Hunters are always going to get unjustly complained about and be accused of being “too powerful” no matter what. I honestly think what this guy said about Blade Barrage kinda shows this. The Super works pretty much like a Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc, which have been around WAAAAY longer, yet it’s the Hunter who is gonna be complained about the most.

Edit: The amount of people who I’m seeing in this post essentially saying that Nova Bomb sucks and that Blade Barrage is better is too funny.
They do the exact same thing and deal the roughly the same damage. The only difference between the two is how you are using them.
Nova Bomb is made for direct damage whereas Blade Barrage was made to spread out damage (please note that “spreading out damage” does not mean that it’s dealing large damage in a larger radius, it just means that you can either focus the blades into a point for maximum damage or you can spread the blades out making the damage on single targets lesser but more spread out).
Edit 2: Yep. Who knew that the Warlock mains would somehow come in and take the opportunity to, as always, play the victim and go on about how “weak and underpowered” they are. Good grief!

Bit late here, but Blade Barrage is clearly WAY -blam!-ing better than Nova Bomb, and to even suggest otherwise is laughable. Your analysis doesn't even make sense. Nova BOMB is made for direct damage, and BB is for area damage? Why would an explosion not be meant to deal splash damage? And either way you're wrong, because BB is better for both, and also just straight up deals more damage than Nova per target, covers a larger radius, casts faster, has more range, and has no possibility of dealing damage to the user. It does anything Nova Bomb can do (aside from kill its caster) but better.

6 RepliesAhh, Hunters complaining. The sandbox must be balanced. Blade Barrage is a fantastic Super. The problem is that it's an "instant" Super like Nova Bomb and Thundercrash. So there's a direct comparison. And when compared to either of those it does everything better. Thundercrash has a higher risk involved as whatever you don't kill with it you're right next to. And typically you don't want to be next to things it can't one shot. Blade Barrage doesn't have that risk. Nova Bomb can kill it's user, which has always been stupid. Slova Bomb is well, slower and has wonky tracking. It also deals less damage than Blade Barrage. The other Nova Bomb has a fairly small footprint and can still be avoided. Basically Blade Barrage highlights the disadvantages of the other instant Supers. It does everything better than them.

2 RepliesEvery time people complain and get something nerfed it just makes the game worse. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a whole team wiped with blade barrage like other supers can. But go ahead, keep whining, pretty soon you’ll be throwing sporks at eachother in crucible and using potato guns on riven.

1 ReplyLet me preface this by saying that I don't consider Blade Barrage to be overpowered whatsoever, but don't even try comparing Nova Bomb to Blade Barrage. Nova is incredibly slow, has a significantly smaller radius, and deals less damage than Blade Barrage. It is inferior in every way, shape, and form.

I main a Titan, my second Favorite toon is my Hunter. I don't know where all the hate comes from lol Honestly they all have strengths and weaknesses. I don't think any 1 really stands above the rest. They all serve a purpose for different situations. As for PVP it's no different then as you stated Fist of Havock or even golden gun. Nova Bomb is a solid choice as well it even has tracking and the little projectiles that follow. Point is, people will always complain, i just don't pay it any mind lol

4 RepliesLOL it's a crutch super. I been hit with so many times from a hunter camping at the back a map. All to protect his 5 kill streak. If Slova'bomb was 100 percent faster, had targeting and was able to break apart, then it's the same

I mean the super itself is a oh fck button when you see someone rushing you. Theres no skill really needed for it. I had more fun running rampant with Golden gun in Vanilla D2. I might try it out to see if I like it better than goldy gun but I still like Titans better personally

“Do exactly the same and the same dmg” Blade barrage does way more dmg, has 2 volleys, slight tracking and way faster travel speed. Sorry but at least be factual when making s lost to complain about stuff

5 RepliesAs a Warlock main I can tell you Blade Barrage does more damage then Nova. It might be bugged but in Blind Well a single Blade Barrage with Tractor completely strips the shields off bosses instantly while a Nova with Tractor doesn’t even take off half. It really depends on the target though, Anything bigger then an Orge will take more damage from a Blade Barrage.

Blade barrage is easily the most paniced super now. I dont really see people panicing fist/nova, not ss much as panic barrage.

Supers are in the game so people can get easy kills. That means all supers are crutches. People are just kidding themselves if they think theirs require skill.

I think the difference is nova bomb can kill the caster, FoH cant be done from a range, and neither of those supers can adjust their aim if they do a bad cast. It's easily a far more annoying panic super then FoH or nova bomb ever were. While I'm on the subject why does blade barrage out damage thundercrash? One has actual risk and far less radius. It's not like ones neutral game is drastically better then the other.

Edited by Jere51666: 9/30/2018 9:34:04 PMNova bomb was always weak and underpowered on D2, blade barrage is just infinitely better, im not saying to nerf it, just buff nova bomb, its not useable anymore compared to any other supers, compared to blade barrage nova bomb is slower, need better aim (while blade barrage doesnt need aim at ALL, people kill me with this thing outside of buildings while i was inside and they dont even have line of sight), nova bomb travels slower while blade barrage have 0 delay between cast and hit, yeah, warlocks are “whiny”, actually, we dont need the game doing all the work for us :)
