I've had 12 exotics drop. 11 were year one. Not five min ago my 12th dropped. Trinity ghoul! But when I saw that engram fall to the floor I was only disappointed, I thought to myself, "great another year one I don't need. At least my light will go up." But when I picked it up I couldn't have been happier! That being said, it's sad that even after this I still won't be excited to see an exotic drop. My current streak of 1/12 new exotic drop rate makes me believe that I'll have to wait at least 3 more weeks for a new exotic.
If the game started like this, then that wouldn't bother me. Chances are I'd still have year one exotics to collect and be excited. But owning all year one just dilutes the loot pool and I understand that chances are it won't be anything I want or don't already have....

What activity are you playing to get 12 exotic drops?

Literally everything. Night fall Gambit milestones gunsmith. Blind well. Crucible, strikes. A single activity didnt drop all 12. But I'm probably playing more than the average guardian. I took leave to play Forsaken. I've literally played about 8 hrs every day with the exception of last week when my leave ended. For the first 18 days i played from wake up to bed.
