Why is Shattered Throne's respawns and difficulty designed to f£$k over solo players?
Some of you will have done exactly what I did, given this mission is available as a solo activity and no matchmaking is available for the mission, and that is to jump into the portal.
Once inside you will find out, upon dying, that you have to restart the entire encounter from scratch. The entire encounter being reset! I don't mind getting put back a bit but, I made it to the thin platforms room, fell off one of the platforms after clearing the ads only to find myself right back at the start of the area on the high platform with the stairs and every bit of progress wiped.
While the mission is cool. This is an absolutely ridiculous thing to do. The door opening should have been a checkpoint. The clearing of the ads in the platforms should have been a checkpoint etc. etc. To wipe all progress while for a solo player is literally like Bungie just saying F- U.
Before anyone jumps in and says that it's supposed to be hard. Yes hard is fine but, this is ridiculous. It's not a nightfall with extinguish set! It's a mission that you are supposed to be able to do solo! Unless you power level to 600 and have Destiny as a full time job like a streamer. This mission is 100% not do-able as a solo. One mistake wipes all progress!
Edit: Do people really not understand the word solo?
Edit 2: For those lying about checkpoints (or genuinely not understanding what a checkpoint is) .Go watch your favorite streamers trying to solo at 580 and above. They are swearing like troopers at the LACK OF CHECKPOINTS!

Power level is for 590 . Find friends or quite complaining until your 590+

your highest is 560.. stop complaining and get a team ...at that level you wont even do damage later on in the encounter... and will get one shot. I did it yesterday and i had 2 590s helping me.

But it does have checkpoints. You just didn’t make it far enough to get one. And based on that there’s no way you are soloing that entire quest anyway. Just make a damn recruitment post and you can have a fire team for it in minutes. I’m a solo player as well but when it comes to hard activities you won’t catch me complaining about their difficulty because if I’m adamant enough about getting something then I’m going to gather a team to get it if I can’t do it solo. By now you should realize that there will always be activities that you can’t complete solo. So you can either not complete it and continue to whine about it on the forums, or you can take a few minutes, gather a team and get it done.

Not a solo game, caters to it somewhat, but isn’t the focus. Team up or play something else.

There’s a new cheese for shattered throne, day you have two members in your team and in an encounter one kills themselves they will go to setting and go to the change character screen but not quit just yet, the other player will then also die and during the countdown on the final 0 second the player quits, this kills all ads and completes the encounter, and you can do it on every encounter to get the wishender quest

First off it’s an activity 30 light levels above you so I’m not sure why you think you can solo it. Also I did it last night and there are definitely checkpoints unless you were doing a different activity.

I plan to do this mission but will probably LFG a couple to run it. I think I saw a respawn timer of like a minute I think when watching someone online run it. The hardcores wanted a challenge no CPs is a challenge.

For people who say get friend and whatever I have a relation who is missing certain chromosomes and it stop him communicating properly can’t speak well write or read he plays this game I got him into it now if it was not for me he would never be able to play with someone else

1 ReplyFirst of all, you won't even be able to complete it at your light level. Second of all, I understand you are a solo player but having a team would be EXTREMELY beneficial for the completion of this activity.

because bungie, streamers, try hards and elitist need to have their hands held while doing everything... I'm sure they all sleep with nightlights still. Lone Wolfing is not a thing in today's gaming generation... artificial difficulty by sponging/timegating/plate sitting etc... bungie wants you to make friends whether you wanted it or not. A new game will be out soon for solo looter shooters... bungie will see a mass exodus, and this time I won't be coming back.

Maybe that is because the dungeon is for pre made teams just like the raid? Except maybe the dungeon doesn’t have a wipe timer so you can take as long as you want? That might explain why there’s a LFG section if you want to go through it solo? Or perhaps you should consider joining a clan? That’s pretty much how endgame has always been and guess what? Dungeon is going to be part of the endgame. Either LFG or take your time.

It's a new content type called dungeons, basicly a mini raid. You aren't meant to steamroll it.
