Why Use Way of the Wraith over other Hunter Subclasses/Clusters?

This is an open challenge/debate for everyone who sees it. This thread will expand with each point that I can or can't shutdown. Way of the Wraith is absolute trash and in my eyes, you can count the benefits on one hand. When compared to other clusters and supers though, it pales. Challenge me.

  • That was my first choice with my first seed of light because I thought it was reminiscent of d1 bladedancer. I just got my third seed and finished up the blade barrage tree. I’m never switching to anything else. Especially once I get shards of galanor.

    • I like it just because it feels very similar to what bladedancer did in d1. But if we're being honest the perks don't compliment each other well, and the super is easily shut down imo. New gunslinger subclass seems to reign supreme out of the three new trees introduced with forsaken. If they changed the third perk to where it would activate on any precision kill, and tweaked the hit registration I could see it being more viable.

      • I guess if you like being a ninja? Honestly Way of the Wraith needs a rework because whoever developed this particular tree is either a master troll or a complete idiot who is clearly disconnected from the game.

I feel like the duration for the Super duration is either way too short, or the attacks drain too much energy. From what I’ve used so far, it’s probably the shortest Roaming Super for its type in the game.

        • Wha? You’re freaking invisible with damage resistance AND you have smoke bombs that actually work and can go invisible with crouching precision shots... compared to way of the outlaw, it’s awesome

          • Mass application of 50% damage increase with semi safe invisibility. Other than that, real not great. Would be better if you could apply it the smoke bomb

If you’re someone that likes debuff and stealthing through PvE activities (that’s me) then it’s great. As for PvP, I guess it’s good for people go around sliding with the Chaperone. The super is just a worse Bladedancer/Arcstrider so if you want a good super then this isn’t your subclass path

                • Are we talking crucible or PvE? Or is either free game?

                  • True sight gives you peeker's advantage in normal pvp. and in pve it lets you know where the invader is coming from. The debuff is better to use in a lot of situations compared to melting point. This is because it is easier to access, safer to access, far more up time, can spread the debuff on more than one target or keep one target debuffed for 15 seconds, and doesn't require a melee charge. Super is decent add clear/boss damage. But imo because it gives true sight out by default it lets you tackle any situation easier and it lets you do it at your own pace due to the drain being slower while invis. It doesn't out right replace either top or bottom cluster for night stalker. But it can compete. And the same can really be said for nearly all new clusters. Aside from the awful hit detection (that melee supers in general struggle with) the only true failing of the class is that it's a "win more" class for pvp. Meaning if you are not at your best and staying at your best you won't get the best use out of it. But I hardly think that flaw alone means the cluster is garbage.

                    • What you should be asking is why use the new arc super on hunters?, basically no different from the original or rather worse

                        • Did a sneak bow run in pvp with this class. The amount of information you get when you get the invisible is almost cheating. I did this solo, but if I was teamed up I could give info to my teammates about the enemies location. It's a niche playstyle, not fancy like throwing knives or rod uppercuts. You stay in the shadows and attack when the time is right.

                          • The wombo combo that you can do with wraith is fantastic, I would even say it’s the best, the only issue is the smoke doesn’t last long enough, flawless execution is probably one of the most powerful concepts they’ve come up with, wall hacks is always amazing, albeit kind of difficult to pull off in PvP, and the real bread and butter is the ability to sunder enemies with it and being able to constantly do that, it makes wraith way more beneficial than melting point because as long as there’s enemies, you can keep that sunder going.
