Depression

Hello, people of the internet. I've recently been going through depression. So here the story, my dog died this week and I can't get over it, I've been having therapists but... none of them could help me with it. So if you would do so nicely, please send me ways of stopping my depression. Thank you

  • A dog dying makes you sad. It doesn’t give you depression

  • Psalms 40:1-3 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORDand put their trust in him. Psalms 42:11 11 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God 1 Peter 5:6-7 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. John 16:33 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Praying for you

  • 1. Time. When it comes to loss, time is the biggest healer unfortunately. 2. Being around supportive people. Being alone can worsen depression substantially 3. Exercise. Releases hormones and focuses your mind on a different type of stress 4. General self care. Eat well, sleep well, hydrate, do something you enjoy

    • What happened to you is very sad and losing your dog is very hard. I had three dogs and I know how it feels. What might help you is to get another dog, definitely have somebody that you can talk to maybe a friend or a family member. You are experiencing grief and I think it is perfectly normal to be sad. I hope you will feel better soon! Take care!!!

    • I’ve been experiencing the same feelings. There’s not much you can do by yourself to stop it. I just have to find ways to cope. For example, I tend to join my friend’s party whenever I play some games on Xbox just to talk with him. He’s great fun to be around, and it helps me forget what’s going on in my life. Finding some sort of other hobby to do alone also helps. For example, I write stories in my spare time. It may seem weird, but it really helps. And if you ever think about self harm... don’t. It’s temporary relief, but permanent scars. I hope something I said was helpful.
