HDR issues: Destiny 2 XBOX
Hi,
I'm on an XBOX one Scorpion running full 4K. I'm on the Microsoft Insider program. Until last week, Destiny 2 has been running absolutely wonderfully with amazing graphics. Last week, something happened. Destiny 2, and only Destiny 2...not any of my other 4K games, developed a severe graphics issue where everything is too dark. XBOX graphic tests say everything is fine. Still, I attempted to figure out what was wrong.
* I reset the display and went through the XBOX calibration again with no luck.
* I've uninstalled and reinstalled Destiny 2 with no luck.
* I've done a hard clear cache with no luck.
* I've readjusted the screen controls in-game with no luck (they are fine on the settings panel).
* I've turned off 4K on the XBOX with no luck. (And with it, HDR)
* I've forced an upgrade to the XBOX firmware with no luck.
* I've file a support ticket with Microsoft with no luck.
* I've checked all the HDMI cables with no luck
* I've checked my receiver settings and it's firmware level (all fine)
All my other 4K games work great. It's just something with Destiny 2 that I can't figure out. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Just curious, what make and model tv do you own? I'm on a 65" sony 900e. I've gone to playing on my non hdr projector until this gets sorted.

Edited by jnikoley: 9/24/2018 5:02:26 PMI have the same issue, but I’m on PS4. The game seems to switch it’s brightness settings in HDR mode differently every time I login. Most times, dark scenes are so dark, it’s unplayable. Just recently, I was in the tower on my way up the stairs to see lord Saladin. The stairs were so dark, I couldn’t make out the individual steps. I switched the games HDR off, and the stairs could be seen clearly again. I’ve done everything that Bungie has suggested, such as switching HDR off and on in my game, on my console, and on my TV. The only fix I have found, is to not use HDR for destiny 2. Bungie hasn’t gotten it right yet. Any other game I play, I don’t have this issue with HDR, only destiny two.

10 Repliesgonna sound obvious but, tried resetting your tv... which is it ? I seen this on my oled when it goes dark in a kinda sleep mode and not wake up properly.
