Data Cluster: Biocatarus-2, Ghost Logs 1 (1 of 2).

Previous Entry: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248722657?sort=0&page=0 The Prison of Elders was in ruins, but you knew that ahead of time. Unsurprisingly, Variks was nowhere to be seen. After asking one of the few remaining guards where Variks’ quarters had once been, you find it in shambles. Most of his notes and logs were destroyed, but you did manage to find what looked like a Golden Age canister. On it was a note, presumably from Variks. “I am sorry that I could not follow through on my promise, but I had other loyalties that were greater than my one to you. My Shadow has told me that the lock can only be opened by a Guardian, so I trust you know what to do, old friend.” You look at the canister and find a small crystal embedded into its surface. Instinctively you funnel a minuscule burst of Light energy into the device, and it clicks open instantly. Inside is the Data Cluster. ************************************************************************************* [Ghost Log: 42] Biocatarus-2 stands in front of a small group of roughly 20 individuals. The Titan is wearing a full set of freshly cleaned armor, minus his helmet which lays on a table by his side. The result of this choice in appearance has both intimidated his crowd, and left them in awe. It has been [4 months, 12 days, 23 hours] since he had first recruited these City Dwellers for his training program, or Dead Orbit’s, if you prefer the official documentation. Today would be the first time any of them had left the City borders, and all of them were a little terrified. They were trying to hide it, but there are little things that most Ghosts have learned to take notice of, to better understand our other half. Biocatarus-2 breaks the silence, stating “You have all shown a commitment of will and determination leading up to this point, determination that in my eyes rivals that of any Guardian. We do not get to chose this life, to be reborn in the image of a warrior, but you all do get a choice. If somewhere inside lies any doubt, any fear, than now is your last chance to leave. Some of you have families, and even if you don’t, I respect your choice to go back to the city with the skills you need to protect others should the time arrive.” After a pause, one member of the crowd stepped forth. They pulled out a hand cannon gently, one that had been given on the day they joined, and offered it to Biocatarus-2. Without saying a word, my Guardian slowly pushed the offering back. Thomas Thurman, the man that chose to leave, began to speak. “I…” “Keep it,” Biocatarus-2 responded, “Just by being here you have earned it.” Thomas nodded, and walked out to leave. Right before he reached the exit, he turned back for one last moment. “BC, thank you for your time.” Biocatarus-2 gave a nod in response, and then gave an old-era military salute. A tradition of honor that had managed to survive the collapse for good reason. Those who prove themselves deserve recognition. We owe them that. ~ [Ghost Log: 06] I fly through the raging battlefield that had been made within a single empty street residing in the Last City. On this day, Biocatarus-2 organized a mock battle, one that set his chosen against one another in two teams of six. He was watching one, while I oversaw the other. My subjects had maneuvered around a large collections of crates and an abandoned bus. The makeshift cover had yet to be assaulted, but I knew danger was coming, my other half was nearby. Along with the other team that he was overseeing. Thomas, the ‘leader’ of their group of six, looked up and spotted me. “Crap, BC’s Ghost is here. No doubt so are the other guys.” “BC?” asked Natala Shul, a former construction worker that had fallen on hard times. “You know, Bio-Catarus? His name is too long, gets kind of annoying to say, so BC.” Thomas replied. Shera Colst, who was an observant but also obnoxious marksman, snickered. “What?” Thomas asked. “Nothing. You wouldn’t get it.” She replied with a childlike sneer. Another figure, Brendal, a large brute of a man, but honest at heart, hit the back of her head. “What was that for?” She yelped. Brendal put a finger where his mouth would be, had he not been wearing a helmet. “Oh. Right.” Shera sulked. Thomas looked at his hand cannon, and then towards his ‘fireteam’. “Either they are going to push, or we are.” “Well I’m not waiting around to find out.” said Hosque, a skinny man who always believed the world was out to get him. “Let’s just start this thing already.” Hosque, at the absolute terror of his team, stepped out into the open. Unsurprisingly the fool was instantly downed by a non-lethal sniper bolt. Thomas looked the the prone body of his friend, panic swelling in his mind. I watched as the other team moved in, like a Fallen Captain towards his prey. [End of Part 1 of 2] [You know that Crucible map, Midtown? Pay it a visit.
