I was just talking to my friend about this today. What would close the loop from being a lite mmo to a full mmo? One of the main topics that popped up was transit to new planets. Wouldn't it be awesome to launch off of a planet in your spaceship to go to the next planet (Similar to no mans sky)? In between there could be space missions and bounties for space pirates to kill, etc and other activities in space.
Yeah, it would take longer to get to the next activity but man would it be fun/cool to get to the next planet. It would also make the game come together into a full mmo experience instead of just clicking on a planet on a map. I almost feel like this was their original plan for the game but they couldn't do it due to the ps3 and 360 holding them back so they just stuck with the ship being used for loading screens only for both games. What are your thoughts guys? Would this be something that you would like to see? For things like strikes, raids, and nightfall they could still make it a quick jump que but for all world activities the transit to other planets could be by ship. What are your thoughts here? Please up-vote and comment if you agree so maybe the developers will take notice :)

1 ReplyYoure no longer playing Destiiny at that point. You're describing the **dream** that people who invested in "Star Citizen" were sold. ...and that "game" is behaving more and more like a Ponzi scheme with each passing day. Point? RSI sold people what was basically THREE AAA games in one....and they havent' really been able to deliver on any of them. Space combat sim.....MMO.....First person shooter. Its hard enough and expensive enough trying to do ONE of these ideas well.....nevermind three of them under the same roof. What you wind up with is an expensive mess, that would take forever to make....would be impossible to supply content for....and would wind up being a game that isn't even Destiny once you're finished. That's assuming you ever managed to finish it. I gave $200 to RSI for Start Citizen back in 2014...and I've seen NOTHING from them at this point that I consider a reasonable product...and at this point I just consider the $200 a loss on a bad investment. Meanwhile they keep trying to squeeze fewer and fewer backers harder and harder for money.

Gross, no thank you.

2 RepliesIf there’s a D3 I’m not buying it until Y2. Bungie doesn’t learn from their mistakes ever.

2 RepliesEdited by sXeth: 9/20/2018 8:58:50 PMBe cool if they could do it well (and have some sort of thing to do so its not just a dull time waster). (Space)Flight controls, and particularly combat wise are uh, notoriously kind of tough to do well though. If you're up for some video watching, the preview videos for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw are full of the dev discussing some of the hurdles of trying to get that action combat experience smoothed out while keeping the open space feel (as opposed to something on rails like Star Fox) No Mans Sky is kind of impressive on some fronts, but if you view it from the point of an action game, its kind of a barely scraping the satisfactory line. Warframe's mentioned wanting to do exactly what you said, with the upcoming Railjack stuff being the prototype effectively, but again, Archwing missions are considered some of the cludgiest parts of the game.

1 ReplyI'd rather have 60 fps @ 1080p on PS5.

3 RepliesNo thanks. This sounds like one of those things where the destination is definitely more important than the journey. I don't want to control the flight, I don't want to be interrupted on the way. Just get me to the planet I chose so I can get on with whatever activity I was trying to do.

It’s still gonna run at 30 fps so who cares.

1 ReplyYou mean what No Mans Sky does or Elite Dangerous?
