I think you are underestimating the serious advantage of being able to get 5 rockets from 1 brick in crucible or Raids or Stikes, to constantly be able to use your best weapons without restriction - among all the other bonuses you can get from good perks. Who cares what LFG says or asks for.
You're also overestimating the value of light points. What's better? A pair of arms with Rocket Scavenger + Heavy Finder at 530 - or the same gloves at 533 with 2 shit roles. I can assure you the rolls count for more in that scenario than 3 light which doesn't even equate to one point of your actual Light Average. And considering how small the leaps in gear are per piece (Often only 3-5 points), even with Powerful engrams, it's almost always a bad choice to not infuse - but hey man, you do you.
Like I said - I already had enough currency to do it this way anyway, but it doesn't change the fact the cost of cores to infuse is nonsense.

I would hope we're not talking about three-point increments here. Obviously I'm not going to forgo a good roll just for three points, and I sincerely hope you are not infusing gear with cores for three points at a time, for the same reasons you listed above. If people actually are doing that, I'm not surprised they are short on cores. The last time I infused something for cores was when I added over 30 points to my Raiden Flux. Most legendaries drop frequently enough that you can do the glimmer-only infusion for those smaller upgrades. Exotics are the only real concern in that regard and it seems obvious to me that you should be waiting for substantial upgrades before spending cores on that.

Edited by N7_Dredgen: 9/20/2018 5:03:47 PMI wouldn't infuse 3 points up, that's wasteful as you mentioned - I just keep them on the side because last I was aware the higher level gear, as long as it was in your inventory was accounted for in future engrams (could be wrong, that is what I was told) - but I also wouldn't equip a 3 point piece of gear over good rolls.
