I don't believe so, but there was an update yesterday - I will check tonight and see if it still works as I posted - should I be wrong and/or there was a change I will reply where it stands. I know they changed the Brayteck weapon so you can no longer get mods from that - but I didn't feel that was a good investment to start with - 45 shards to get 9 components seems steep to me.
