Sleeper is indeed too powerful but ONLY in Gambit.
It seems like many people are jumping to both extremes of the Sleeper/Gambit debate. I'm right in the middle. Please don't nerf the gun so that it loses its power particularly in PvE. At the same time I absolutely believe it is overpowered [b]within the structure[/b] of Gambit. I can get kills with ease any time I invade with Sleeper often without the team ever discovering where I am. It's a breeze. And I love the arguments saying "get gud" or "learn counter strategies". I've destroyed a tons of "counter strategies" with Sleeper. :)
But here is where I lose any cred - I don't know a good answer. I just don't want the gun nerfed to oblivion (as has happened to weapons in the past). [i][/i]

1 ReplyI would suggest one of the following.... When you invade you are "suppressed" and cannot use any power weapons. This would keep Sleeper viable for boss fights and not impact it's use in other activities. You can even use Sleeper on your side and against invaders. You just can't invade with it or other power weapons. OR Reduce the ammo for power weapons to 1 shot when you go through the portal. If you have a full stack and cross into the portal to invade you are instantly limited to 1 shot of any power weapon. Why should this affect all power weapons and not JUST Sleeper? Well, who's to say this will be the end of it. What if they come out with a Gjallarhorn type power weapon or something else that is very powerful. I personally have not seen the problems or issues with Sleeper. Granted I have only played a handful of gambits but I think this will sort itself out as time goes on.
