Title says it all
Edit: it also does great with ranged melee when you don’t hit the head throwing knife throwing hammer and the new warlock super melee

11 RepliesEdited by Darkjedi420420: 9/18/2018 12:13:22 PMthe gun does 321 damage at super range, better than even an AR, with a head shot the gun needs a nerf, and spawn campers are why. The gun even kills with an over shield, which is broken, just like the sleeper is. Bungie do what you do best NERF it all.

2 RepliesI enjoy it, but I imagine a lot of people won't. The Chaperone rewards players who can think fast and aim well. I find that a lot of people just take the path of least resistance with shotguns and aim for center mass, which can and will get you whomped if you try it with The Chaperone. It is possible to get kills without aiming for the head, but you'll find that the gun just isn't consistent unless your nailing precision kills. Now assuming you can hit a target in the head, this gun is a monster and you will find yourself getting kills at absurd ranges, add in The Roadborn and you've got one of the best shotguns in the game. So to summarize, if you can aim and are quick on the sticks, The Chaperone is the gun for you. If not then I recommend finding another shotgun to use because this thing will be more of a hindrance if you can't.

Still prefer my Gannora’s Axe To each their own I guess 🤷♂️

8 RepliesI always prefer my Matador 64 over any other shotty!

Actually pairs well with smoke grenade. Stick them with a smoke, slows them, so you can get easy crits or quick bodyshots.

In average hands? LOL. In skilled hands? Whew...

3 RepliesThat gun was making life miserable for me in PvP. I must have one. The range on that thing must amazing. Now, if I was one of these Crucibabies I would have said, "Waaaahhhh...Nerf it. I can't compete. It's not faaaiirrrrrr......................"

I had a chance to use it last night for the first time after completing the quest. I concur, it's fun and is properly effective.
-
2 RepliesProblem for me is that when the gun was originally out, it wasn’t good nearly as well, and thats why I loved it so much. I heard it was coming back, got excited, and now know its broken, so I feel bad for using it. Haven’t even put it on once since I got it

Ur right chaperone is best
-
Nothing better than killing an invader that still has full overshield
-
Bungo will nerf it one day, just like what they did to sleeper...really hate those weekend warriors

Edited by Rabbi Hershel: 9/18/2018 5:15:44 AMI’ve been using it frequently and at close - mid range it hits about as much as my bow w/ explosive arrows, at very close range it edges it out but the whole purpose of the gun is that mid range. I kinda like it but it just isn’t top notch in my opinion.

I can only use it against weaker players. It’s hard to use against really skilled ones . They will make you miss and then destroy you

It's so fun to use.

2 RepliesI prefer my Lord Of Wolves.

1 ReplyI might actually delete it

1 ReplyDont worry there will be a big nerf coming. Enjoy it while it lasts. History shows Bungle and nerf hammer will happen....... They cater to the people who get it first. Then when a lot of people get it, wait for it...... The hammer comes out. The game is just a mouse on a wheel game. Enjoy some cheese before the yank it away.....Sadists

2 RepliesChaperone is pretty good, but Mortal Kombat is the best game of all time.
-
Even with the nerf (Roadborn doesn’t trigger from other weapons) and ammo economy, Chappie is still the true skill cannon of Crucible. Throw on Precision gunslinger or Voiddancer and you’re golden.
-
4 RepliesTrue shot gun Lords wield the Chaperone. You better hit your headshot or you’re done.
-
10 RepliesUnlocked it yesterday.... Equiped it shot it a few times and went back to my secondary shotgun which kills much quicker. So it's just as trash as it was in d1. All that grinding for nothing.

5 RepliesYa know what's better?

7 RepliesI want it.. bad... cant get the stupid quest to drop... the quest steps would take me like 4 games maybe... getting the quest? Apparently will take me an eternity
