There's so many posts popping up about Redeem cheating. The fact is they didn't use a cheat. The definition of cheat is "Act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination." Which people are claiming they used a mechanic in the game as cheating. It's not.
Flat out not cheating if it's literally in the game and anyone could do it. The fact that people are calling them cheaters despite them figuring out the mechanics and going at the raid for 18 freaking hours is ridiculous. They deserve it, they put in the time to grind/"cheat"(once again not cheating).
They earned it. The major complaint I'm seeing people say is that because their light level was higher than others. Which isn't true. Several large streamers were around the same level.
Also, they were STILL underleveled. The fact is the raid isn't meant for everyone. It's not meant for casuals. It just isn't. Deal with the fact that there was no way anyone but the major streamers and youtubers had a chance. That's just how it is.

12 RepliesThis coming from the same people that complained about coil glitching the last time around. Just because a bug is in the game doesn't make it a "mechanic." I'm pretty sure exploiting bugs is against the terms of service, and is classified as cheating. They advertised heavily that they were exploiting prime engram and masterwork bugs. Those things were patched and announced by bungie that they were unintended. Integrity means doing the right thing even when nobody is looking, but these guys played their exploits on YouTube and couldn't even remain humble about it. Open cheaters, closed case.

34 RepliesThey were the only ones with enough time to make the cheat advantageous. Bungie knew this. This was done to ensure that a streamer team got World's First... Turns out the same clan that glitched their way to Leviathan World's First. They cheated... Again. Bungie can "honor" them again. In my book, they're worthless scrubs that can't do anything without glitching for an advantage.

5 RepliesWhat they did directly falls into your definition for cheating. They abused an unintended mechanic to gain an advantage over those who played the game as it was meant to be played. Yes, they were still underleveled, but they were much higher Light than the vast majority of the playerbase that grinded the game as Bungie intended. The fact is that they were "World's First" solely because they grinded an unintended mechanic that Bungie themselves stated was cheating. Whether you agree or not is irrelevant.

Edited by Atreuss: 9/18/2018 7:05:22 AMOk how about they lacked integrity or acted dishonorably? Their emblem should read "World's first through prime glitch" Oh and your statement about it only meant for streamers, not casuals is just dumb. There are plenty of hard core players that don't stream and who did not prime glitch. They had no chance of competing because they were grinding the way the game intended. Bungie should have never released the raid fully knowing it was beyond reach for the player base and because of their bugs.

exploits, boosting, cheating, glitches... these used to be a bad thing, not so much anymore and seem to be encouraged by this and many game franchises... so long as you are a streamer that is...
-
OMG GO AWAY WITH THIS BULLSHIT. How can you possibly make a full post about how it was ok for professionals to be forced to farce with mechanics to get even close to attempting the raid, and that the average player shouldn't expect to play the key part of the 40 DOLLARS dlc they PAID FOR, because bungie decided tedious grind could cover up for content

You’re not my real dad!🖕 REDEEM CHEATED
-
They cheated
-
So basically what your saying is if we find a exploit we should farm the living shit out of it because just like the YouTubers we won’t get wrong.
-
Unfairly in order to gain an advantage, pretty sure exploiting an unintended consequence of a new mechanic to inflate your character’s power level and thus their effective damage output and damage resistance is acting unfairly.
-
I can’t stand ANY of these streamers and you tubers. Why the hell they have been allowed to determine the direction of any any game is beyond me. And then to top it all off, bungie are now glorifying 6 low life cheaters which essentially sets a precedent stating that kind of behaviour is perfectly fine. Repugnant!

shut up Indica.

I can tell you who wants nothing to do with the word Redeem Datto No redeem code for that Jacket then. Datto = not part of the Redeem Team it seems... on a sub note, I think Bungie should auction off the jacket they kept for him and donate it to someone in need of an extra few bucks to upsize their mcdonalds meal.

You know what I think? Would they have "cheated" if the progression and reward system weren't complete shit, and they organically got to "raid ready" by the time the raid was ready? Why take digs at them and not the Live Team for this loathsome progression system when they had something good in Rise of Iron?? Why did the Dreaming City not naturally get us up to 550? Do the raid drops from the first boss drop at 560? If not, isn't that kinda bullshit?

2 RepliesAt no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no Grimoire score, and may The Traveler have mercy on your soul.

I read your rant and I still have no idea what you're talking about. What did they do?
-
3 RepliesYou just said and enforced everything bungie had in their sticky that they were cheating. Hope your nose ain't too brown m8

7 RepliesEdited by Smith5084: 9/18/2018 12:49:19 AMThey used an exploit that Bungie released a statement about essentially saying that’s use wasn’t in the spirit of the game, and they still used it to gain an advantage for World’s First. There was a time in baseball where the use of PED’s wasn’t “technically” in violation of the rules, but MLB released a statement saying that doing so flew in the face of the spirit of the game. Same thing... It’s why several prominent players from that era still aren’t in the HOF. Same concept. If it can be proven that players on the team used the Prime Engram exploit, their title should be revoked, as others that were in the running did the honorable thing and practiced restraint.

1 ReplyIf you keep trying hard enough, he might send you a Xmass letter. Everyone can use drugs to win at sports, and not everyone does. The fact that something was working in the game, doesn't mean it's not an exploit. They decided to take the unfair road to get the edge for the raid. Bungie let them, because they will never touch their beloved streamers. But we all know they would have never achieved it without the exploit. So are they worthy of it? In my opinion, no.

If you ain't cheating you ain't trying!

Cheaters

7 RepliesThey cheated. Worthless glitching scrubs... No more.
-
11 RepliesWhat is the definition of exploit? That’s what occurred. For that reason I believe this gave them an unfair advantage(higher level) than those who didn’t exploit. Therefore the playing field was not even for everybody.

1 Replyso using a datamined video of the last section isnt cheating too.
