Title.
I dont know seems like poorly thought or just a quest that you will, eventually, finish depending on luck? I managed to get behind an invadir who wasnt aware of me. But due to the fact that it has 8k hitpoints it killed me before i layed the final blow.
Yeah i know there are a bunch of basic obvious stuff to take into account:
spawn locations
a nade to lower its overshield
etc
but like is there something else im missing? Because honestly its like going blind agasint, an overshield, sleeper simulant armed, hidden oponent that knows where you are.
Am i missing something?

1 ReplyStop overthinking it. People will tell you to do certain tasks before actually using your hc... Changes are you end up either killing invader with your "softener" or cater invader for other members of your team. When you see/hear that invader has come, you will change to hc and start actively looking for him/her. Then you use that said hc to the point where one of you two lose. Sorry there's no magic involved...

1 ReplyI manage to do it with a bit of luck. I used the crimson and just went in hard when got invaded. Try landing the team shots so stick near to your team mates when your being invaded. Sometimes I would take a quick scan of the map and if I spot him then I would run around near to the edge of map towards him try to get behind him.

Edited by CBO MRMARSTON: 9/16/2018 9:50:28 PMTry Sturm and Drang, clean up mobs of adds with Drang, take a full power Sturm to the invader. Get comfortable with hand cannons, don’t put pressure on yourself to perform. Basically you should just play the game and use your hand cannon instinctively.

Dont go rushing in to kill him. Play smart against him let him focus on someone else so you could shoot at him while hes not shooting at you. Wont work all the time but it will eventually
-
I think I'll just give up on this gun.

1) Sturm and Drang, as said here. 2) Find a team willing to help you out
-
Use Trust.

Hey buddy, I got my kills on matches where I was running either dps or add control. I used Polaris lance to kill adds from a distance and used ten paces on invaders. Running like this gives you the advantage of having little to no motes on you, most invaders look for big scores. Once an invader hops over keep an eye on your team mates with high mote count and stay near them, then just use the good ol’ ambush tactics. Honestly though, just be patient. Play the game and take advantage of opportunities as they surface, if you are focusing strictly on getting those kills you won’t have any fun, and will just rage over missed opportunities. Spoken from experience!

1 ReplyIf the invaders tag wasn't hidden, it would be more fair. The invader can see your tags, but you cant see theirs. Fair?
-
Lol would it be wrong to set a day and help everyone get it by invading and letting them get the hand cannon kills. Obviously not everybody would participate but it would be funny nonetheless to see it happen.

Organized team play. 2-3 people use primary to burn them down, and get lucky. Also always hunt the invader. Use a good HC even if it's a year 1 "Better Devil's." Play lots of gambit. Have fun, and it's not a grind.

Strum and drang... Did it in one match.

Edited by LouieMags4: 9/15/2018 4:27:05 PMDefinitely load your Sturm hand cannon with a full clip over overcharged bullets with Drang. When the invader hits, two tap. It’s sick

Luck plays a big part in getting the 5 kills as a solo player. I would say that 3 of my 5 kills were purely luck, as I downed the invader just before another player on my team could finish him off (steal the kill). That worked both ways. I probably had 3-4 kills 'stolen' from me. My best tactic for 1v1 was to throw a tracking grenade (swarm, skip, etc.). This would either strip the invader shield, or force them to dodge. Either way, I would immediately follow the throw with shots from my Crimson. I got 2 kills using this method against invaders who didn't have their super or heavy ready. I also got killed a few times by invaders who were ready. My first 2 hours in this pursuit, I got no invader kills because I didn't know the game mechanics, maps, strategies, spawn points etc. It was frustrating and I quit to work on something else. 2 days later, I tried again and got the 5 kills in about 4 hours. TL;DR - Good Luck, Guardian. You'll need it.

Shoot them in the head with a hand cannon

1 ReplySay money 3 times and bungie will appear

Sturm and Drang.. finished it last night while completing my milestone.. definitely helps if you have a teammate to help call out where the invader is
-
I used crimson (master worked) My tactic was to keep an eye on the invaders movements. If they started attacking a fellow teammate I would start going for the kills then. The attention Will not be focused on you so should have a better chance

1 ReplyEdited by owen_legend: 9/15/2018 7:57:35 AMDrang and Sturm Use Drang on mobs then 2 tap invaders Did it in 3 games using this

2 RepliesFirst locate them. They'll spawn in one of three sides. You can sometimes rule out one side then move near it to get a good view of the others. Peek from behind cover to minimise risk of snipes/sleeper. Once you have an idea of where they are, remember that they're hunting you, so stay behind cover and force them to come to you, occasionally peeking to keep an eye out for where they are. While they're travelling to you, pick a time to peek out and get some shots off, but then get back behind cover before they charge their sleeper. That should whittle they health down enough for you to pop out and finish them again. It is tricky though. If someone is invading, it's likely to be the player with the best PvP skills, an armed with heavy and/or super. My best tip is to keep at it. Sooner or later you'll get your kills.

I used Crimson and it went pretty well.
-
Even invite the other team to party if you need to and ask nicely
-
Get a friend to help if you can. Your pal could do damage and you try to get the kill. Otherwise when someone invade get off to one side and try to spot them and engage once someone else on your team has. It's a bit cheeky just cos it's pretty hard to get the kill before someone blasts them with heavy or a super. Youll get there tho. OR make a group of people who are all on same quest. You can all help eachother. The Xbox lfg is full of people

Edited by countycheese770: 9/15/2018 6:19:49 AMJust got this part done, no BS, “DRANG & STURN” for the motherfu&king win. I am NOT good at this stuff and knocked it out within 10 matches (maybe less I didn’t count). Just started my PS account about 2 months ago and hadn’t completed any of the quest except for Mida, read a lot of the “Tips” and watched a couple YouTube’s. Finished the quest for sturn and like I said, 10 matches or less I knocked it out. At least give it a go before feeling defeated. Drang and sturn together, use drang until you get 20 rounds in Sturn then play as normal and wait for the invader then light him up. 2 shot headshot. Pretty beast for this part of the quest. Good luck everyone Edit: just checked my destinytracker and it took me 6 matches to knock it out.

Crimson worked well for me.
