Hello,
While playing Halo 1 CE on xbox 360 i notice alot of lagg and choppyness, Well my friend told me that it only happens on Xbox 360 and infact Halo 1 is smooth on the Original Xbox console, I would like to know if that is true and could anyone clear this up for me,
Even Halo 1 on pc is laggy, I run on max setting even when i lower it its the same as playing it on Xbox 360.
I find the lagg expierence ruining and mostly impossible.

I can vouch for Halo lagging far more on the Xbox 360. I won't pretend to be an expert, it's just what I experience. I never actually owned a Halo disc myself, and getting it via download seemed like a quick and easy way to replay the Halo 1 campaign, that I never really had time to sink my teeth into. After I played it though, it was choppy in parts. But it wasn't really noticeable until you get 4 player splitscreen going, then it lags very bad. I got a copy of the actual disc, and loaded it on my original Xbox (that I didn't sell because Microsoft elected to screw up backwards compatibility) and it ran smooth as butter. When I did 4 player splitscreen, no noticeable slowdown. With my original Xbox working, and Halo being close to 5 bucks or something now I am going to pick up a copy, but I am very disappointed in this port. We all know when you emulate somthing (legal or not) you will not get the experience of the original hardware, I just didn't expect it to be this bad.

I noticed that the lag and frame rate was worse on the 360 than xbox, even when I'm using the disk which I'm amazed still works after 7 years O.o

Grab one of those big, black boxes, a copy of H:CE and a duke. Enjoy.
Posted by: sparks230 Yes it does lag.
And yet, i managed to beat it on xbox 360 on legendary :)

Yes it does lag.

Lol no. Reach is okay, it at least plays like most other games this generation, but emulation is a -blam!- and Combat Evolved isn't emulated well, so it's bad enough that I won't even play it on my 360.
Posted by: jtulkas Halo 1 is seamless on the xbox. You won't get any choppiness whatsoever.
That's not entirely accurate. The game has levels of visual integrity that are beyond crazy; it pretty much always displays everything. The end result is that even in regular gameplay there are a few spots where it loses some frames. Still, unless all you're doing is starting at elites and meleeing them, it should be minimal and reasonably unobtrusive. Let's put it this way: it's WAAAAAY more tolerable and pops up less often than Reach's choppiness. [Edited on 09.25.2010 2:25 PM PDT]

Maybe it's just me, but I can only stand playing HCE on OG Xbox.
Posted by: jtulkas Halo 1 is seamless on the xbox. You won't get any choppiness whatsoever.
because it was built originally for the xbox original

The graphics are improved on the 360 but it may play smoother on the original.
