firstly, i dont understand why people have to cheat to get things early but doing it to earn raid gear should be something you can be banned for because if i can remember back in D1 people got banned for picking up dead ghosts that were only 'claimable' after buying the dlc. after i talked to a couple people and watched a couple videos all i was told was "if its in the game than its not cheating" and i just reply with "okay than ill use aimhacks because its in the game so i cant be cheating" so yeah whats the difference between glitching into an area your not meant to be in and modding?
edit: look all im asking is why do people need to glitch into an area that theyll be able to get into anyway
i was called a sulk because i complained about herioc strikes being removed and the sleeper quest not being changed until a couple days later. sorry for any issues that i may have caused and have a good day, Guardians

One is a glitch in the game that they failed to weed out in the beginning. An exploit. Its not ban worthy because it IS in the game. Now this is where you're high asf if you ask me. Putting an aimhack IS HACKING THE ORIGINAL GAME AND IS BAN WORTHY! those two things are NOT the same and if you really think that you really need to leave this game asap. I dont condone raiding glitches but i most certainly am not an idiot and think hacking the game itself is the same thing.

1 ReplyYa it ruined this raid for me and I probably wont play anymore and I'm not pre-ordering shit else.. They let cheaters shit on us and then took it a step further by not punishing them. I'd reccomend just to cheat its basically grand theft auto 3 if you know a cheat use that shit because you wont be punished so might as well do whatever you want to whoever you want whenever you want. "If you cant beat em, Join em."

3 RepliesEdited by NoStatsHereMate: 9/14/2018 2:56:36 PMFirstly, lemme just downvote this into oblivion.
because if i can remember back in D1 people got banned for picking up dead ghosts that were only 'claimable' after buying the dlc.
You don't remember. That never happened.
after i talked to a couple people and watched a couple videos all i was told was "if its in the game than its not cheating"
That's right. Gamers shouldn't be punished for a developer's oversight. If it's within the bounds of the game, it's fair-game.
and i just reply with "okay than ill use aimhacks because its in the game so i cant be cheating"
Yea, that's not within the bounds of the game...
so yeah whats the difference between glitching into an area your not meant to be in and modding?
One is within the bounds of the game and one is not...

Worry about your own Game progression. Not anyone else’s.

Edited by Cowabungus: 9/15/2018 5:06:37 AMOriginally I didn’t think it was necessary but now that I see the consequences of it I am pretty pissed. Edit: I’m talking about prime engram glitch but my point stands

Nope.

firstly, i dont understand why people have to cheat to get things early but doing it to earn raid gear - Because it was fun. should be something you can be banned for because if i can remember back in D1 people got banned for picking up dead ghosts that were only 'claimable' after buying the dlc. - this is not true. Stop spreading false information. No one ever got banned for picking up ghost shells in dlc areas. People got banned for modding in the intrusion ghost shell, the black version of the collectors ghost shell in destiny 1. after i talked to a couple people and watched a couple videos all i was told was "if its in the game than its not cheating" and i just reply with "okay than ill use aimhacks because its in the game so i cant be cheating" so yeah whats the difference between glitching into an area your not meant to be in and modding? - there's a big difference between glitching in an dlc area and using aimbot/ wall hacks.... edit: look all im asking is why do people need to glitch into an area that theyll be able to get into anyway i was called a sulk because i complained about herioc strikes being removed and the sleeper quest not being changed until a couple days later. sorry for any issues that i may have caused and have a good day, Guardians - because it's fun

In D1 or D2.
...after i talked to a couple people and watched a couple videos all i was told was "if its in the game than its not cheating" and i just reply with "okay than ill use aimhacks because its in the game so i cant be cheating" so yeah whats the difference between glitching into an area your not meant to be in and modding?
If something can be achieved on game without altering the code it is not the same as modding. And is not bannable. As it is not in violation of the EULA/ToS. Altering the code of the program to get for instance "aim hacks" is definately bannable and is definately going against the EULA/ToS. The thought of glitching is fine so hacking should be too, is not only irrational thinking but completely idiotic.

31 RepliesEdited by Eru Ellimist Entreri™: 9/13/2018 7:35:10 AMNot typing all of this again, see my comment thread here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248476939 TL;DR - Get over it. EDIT: Addition in response to OP not knowing the difference between glitching and modding - Glitching is using code in unintended ways to achieve an unexpected or unplanned outcome IE the Sparrow Breach from D1. Modding is the use of third party tools to alter the files of the game. Hacking is using third party tools to modify the games code while it is running. None of which applies in this instance, all anyone did was walk through a hole, jump through a more complex series of cliffs than most jumping puzzles in the game, and open a chest at the end. EDIT 2: To clarify, nobody got banned in Destiny 1 for glitching into Kings Watch to grab a ghost shell. The only person banned was someone who modded in a different ghost shell. Fact.

I don’t see how it harms anyone. They’re cheating the game’s pve. I don’t see how a dreg would care. As long as it doesn’t affect another player, it’s fine. They should (but often don’t) ban players that cheat in PVP.
-
Will you be enjoying your butthurt in the restaurant or should I get you a to-go bag?
-
No 3rd party software means it’s not cheating. People shouldn’t be banned due to holes in bungie’s developing
-
This is just an entire thread full of complaints for no reason. People found a pretty obvious spot with missing textures, and used it to gain average weapons below their power level. Listen to yourself, you're saying glitching into a chest and gaining a mediocre legendary is the same thing as using an aimbot.
-
1 ReplyThey wont because some big times destiny YouTubers would be banned also. and bungie kisses those YouTubers butts.
-
What if you got into it but didn’t get any loot? A few of my buddies got in but didn’t get any of the rewards

6 RepliesLOLz, another one mad because some have something they can’t have right now. The worst part is losing your shit over something frivolous in a video game, yes, a video game. I say pop a midol, change your tampon, eat a Snickers and wash it down with a super big gulp of of your salty tears. I thank you again, for creating another funny thread that will keep me entertained throughout my work day.

1 ReplySomeone’s pissy that they missed out on free raid weapons...

1 ReplyHes just whining cause he couldn't do the glitch before it was patched. BooHoo
-
1 ReplyAnybody else remember how a certain class exploited the game physics to skate at speeds never intended by Bungie for going on 4 years now in Destiny 1?
-
21 Replies1. the people who got banned in D1 for getting the ghost got unbanned, it would be one thing if people modded the code to get where they where not suppose to. but no Bungie just left a gaping whole to get out the area. 2. it wasn't even dropped at powerful gear I got mine at 500 3. Aimbot will get you banned because u are using a outside program...glitching is not using another program.. 4. someone getting the chest is not messing up ur game stop being so whinny. it's not helping people figure out the puzzles to be the first to beat the raid, 90% of getting the chest was outside of the area. 5. I got the chest and I don't even plan to do the raid.
-
63 RepliesAll I see in here are people upset they didn't make it to the chest before it was locked out. All the raid gear is, is a fancy new paint job with some lore for the scholars. If you think that this should be a bannable offense, I hope you never work in game design. A lot of devs actually appreciate when people find the holes in their meshing so that they can fix it or learn how to connect set pieces better. Did you notice that after the 1st DLC in D1 there were suddenly a lot more invisible walls? Its because of the people that do community QA by trying to break everything. I mean why else do you suppose one of the areas is soooooo far under the map with a finicky death barrier on DC? This would be like banning anyone that got the Scatterhorn gear the week before Forsaken launched. Its just dumb.
