100% Disk Usage

After the Forsaken update, Destiny 2 will randomly cause my hard drive to start using 100% disk usage, stopping the game from loading assets, and eventually causing the game to crash or force me to close it. (Happens most commonly in Tangled Shore, but has happened during Gambit as well) If I let the game crash, my hard drive will stop responding for a few minutes and become undetectable by Windows 10. Upon trying to move Destiny 2, the file: "w64_sandbox_01be_0.pkg" causes my computer to see the same 100% disk usage and failure to move the file. I'm going to try a reinstall if I still see this after moving Destiny 2, but this is concerning since it can cause hard drive failure if it happens for others and left unchecked.

  • Hey there, Appreciate you reaching out to us with this issue. At this point, I would highly recommend a clean uninstall and reinstall onto an HD that has the proper space requirements needed to play without issue. This is always recommended vs trying to move filed already loaded.
