It depends, if you like me, you’ll pass. Story was the greatest destiny’s ever had up until the ending, boss sucked and ruined everything. Everyone is hyping gambit up, I still trying to figure out what’s so special about it. Tangled shore and dreaming city are the best patrol zones in destiny, but if you don’t go on patrols then there pointless. Infusion process now sucks. PvP is filled with shot guns which is definitely a preference thing. I hate it but some people like it. Haven’t played the raid yet (it ain’t out at time of post) but I got concerns around that because of final campaign boss. Conclusion: depends who you ask and what your preference is. Probably won’t find answer on the forums though due to toxicity. You might think I’m joking but I’ll get some much hate for this post. People will say that it’s cause I suck at crucible or that I need to stop crying about the grind. Where ever you get the answer, it won’t be here. Sorry about spelling or grammar, I’m tired 💤

Funny how a guy who knows nothing about the lore, just wants to shoot things, and seems to just dislike destiny in general is complaining about who he fought at the end of the main story. I mean you killed who killed cayde-6 then a new enemy was introduced most likely to set up the raid. I don’t see where the disconnect is, just because you didn’t “understand” why the boss looked the way it did or disliked it doesn’t mean it was the same for others. Coming on to a forum just to complain about a game when you openly ignore the the story just because you’d rather not read is just stupid. If you don’t use the game and it’s story to its full possibility, don’t complain when it doesn’t meet your unreasonable expectations.

  • Great campaigns don’t need outside understanding to be good. Plus I like destiny a lot so not sure where you got I hate it

  • Your judgement on a boss is driven on what you saw, and that’s only a small part of what the boss fight should mean. The aesthetics of a boss is only a small part of it and it doesn’t make much sense considering in all the history of destiny the biggest bosses with the best looks are in the raid in which they are setting up with the campaign. I mean what were you expecting? To just have a 1v1 in crucible with Uldren? The outside understanding of a game makes it 100% better and I think you should invest in it if you like destiny instead of complaining because you have no idea who’s who or who you’re up against unless it’s spoon fed to you.

  • Funny you brought that up, wasn’t crazy about the boss battle mechanics either. The baron fights were ten times better and more creative. In the boss fight, not only does the design suck, but you can literally stand there, barely take damage from him, and just shoot the floating circle. It was the most boring boss battle to date. Strike bosses had more going on than that fight. Also, your not the only one I’m having this conversation with with so I’ll ask you the same question I asked them. Please give me any piece of your precious lore that justifies such a total lack of effort and creativity. Iv said it once and I’ll say it 3 thousand times, it was a floating circle. A three year old could have put that together.

  • Mhm not really there was more to it besides just standing there and shooting. You were brought to the ascendant plane twice, then had to kill the eyes that made the boss invincible. But i mean I think you’re just using your free time to complain like most entitled people do. You want a game that have all the information fed to you, you want a boss that looks over the top, which I mean they did save that for the raid so I mean that’s the real boss fight if you think about it, considering that’s the end game. But you’re entitled to your own opinion even though you haven’t made much sense and then just disregard everything in this forum say just because you think the last story mission was suppose to be the last thing you do in the dlc. And about the crucible meta, just get better lol. It’s not hard to counter shotguns if you’re smart in any kind of way.
All in all you just ignore the information you need and then rant to feel important.
• This is the most half assed arguments iv ever seen. You went over one baron and you think you’ve won the day. Get down off the cross bro, you sound weak.

  • When did I mention the baron? To beat the final story mission’s boss that’s what you had to do? Don’t see how my arguments half ass either considering your argument is just frustration and lack of knowledge? So it’s more of bitching rather than anything else.

  • Alright, simmer down. No need to get all offended and start insulting me. I struggle sometimes with the way the forums are set up and I get lost in different conversations. That msg was not for you, I don’t think. I can’t find your last post because the way the ui is laid out it’s hard for me to navigate. That’s my bad on this one, I’ll take the L. Ya, the whole baron thing was taking place in another argument I was having. Your argument was not half assed and I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • How can you be concerned about getting to fight Riven? I mean legitimately people have been asking to fight an Ahamkara since D1 and we're going to get to fight a taken one. The final fight of the story was a manifestation of Riven's voice, not a true being which is why you saw it get sucked back into the taken dimension. Riven used to be Queen Mara's friend, and they would spend time together in the dreaming city with Mara listening to Riven's many riddles and guidance. Though you may not have been able to tell during the cutscene with the real Mara speaking, she is actually very distraught at what has become of her friend.

  • Not Uldren, Riven. Riven was one of her closest friends which is why she gave her refuge in the dreaming city during the time of the great Ahamkara hunt

  • Bro, if you don’t follow the lore like a good chunk of people, all you saw was a giant squid monster. It made no sense. If your going off the forums for how many people wanted a fight like that then your getting skewed data. Forums are full of those kinds of people but it’s such a small percent of the people that play the game. I don’t follow the lore, try to look at it from my point of view. I walk into a room expecting to get the grand finale to a epic revenge story, and what I get is a circle with ghost tentacles. Bro, come on

  • I don’t need back story and I don’t care who the characters are. You know why? Characters suck and if it ain’t important enough to put in a cutscene then I don’t need to know about it.

  • The characters only suck because you don't know their history. If they put it all into cut scenes, you would then complain about how long they long they are.

  • That’s the problem with people like you, you think I hate everything, thus don’t listen to me. If it’s not one problem, it’s another. No, I wouldn’t complain about how long a cutscene is, just give me a skip button. Because of the mentality you people have, I’m not even talking about my original problem. The problem isn’t the lore, if people like reading it then more power to them. I don’t care about that. What I care about was the complete and total lack of effort with the boss. It made the campaign feel incomplete. And before you say “oh, well I’m sure if your not crying about then there’s something else wrong with the campaign for you to bitch about” cause I know you people, iv dealt with you all week about this topic. To answer that, no, I don’t have a problem with the rest of the story. From start till almost the end it was the best story bungie has ever told (minus halo 2) and the area that we got to explore were amazing! The side bosses were unique and having AI companions to fight beside really brought everything together and made the world space feel alive and active. The amount of creativity was awesome and I can’t believe bungie has the balls to pull it altogether. But it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. If there is anything in your precious lore that is so damn important and will clear up the any confusion I have about a giant freakin Tentacle circle, please give it to me. Apologizes for grammar and spelling, at work.

They gave tons of hints that Uldren was being manipulated by some unknown party throughout the entire campaign. I absolutely expected that I wasn't going to be fighting Uldren as the campaign's big bad in the final fight. I anticipated fighting the hidden manipulator from the first scene with "Mara."

  • Well now you know and understand. Riven is taken and wants out and was using it's power to reach across dimensional planes to show Uldren what he wanted and use him to free herself (Yes, Riven is female). Uldren in turn was using the Barons to make sure he had the strength to get a piece of the traveler to mix with the darkness he had formed in his heart thanks to Riven's corruption so he could 'free' his 'sister'.
