I recently upgraded from a gtx 780 to a gtx 1080. With my newly upgraded card i was expecting some better performance out of destiny 2 however I'm getting the same (if not worse) fps now with the upgraded card. I bench marked the new card using unigine heaven and got a good score along with having no issues with other games.
Some pc specs.
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
Memory: 32768MB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) (17134.rs4_release.180410-1804)
I have tried many things to try to fix or even impact my performance in game with no luck. Changing any and all video settings in game doesn't effect performance, i get the same in game fps regardless if everything is on highest or lowest/off. GPU drivers are up to date. Windows is up to date. I am running a multiple monitor setup. 3 monitors, all 1920 x 1080, only the primary monitor is 144Hz while the other 2 are 60Hz. I have tried running the game with only 1 monitor with no change to in game performance. I have also used evga precision x to force my gpu to stay at it's boost clock speed with no effect. I have deleted the CVARS.xmi file also with no changes. Im out of ideas at this point and would greatly appreciate any help!
