Apparently the drifter is dredgon yor from the info cayde drops on us from the ace in the hole mission

After reading the Gambit book, it seems The Drifter was a Shadow of Yor. Definitely not Dredgen. He's learned to create his own Ascendent realm, which is where he stores the Primevals used in Gambit. The book is written from the perspective of Shin Malphur, who seems to maybe be keeping a low profile. He doesn't trust the Drifter, but they're kind of working together to make the Shadows of Your surface through the guardian slaying in Gambit. He seems to have a large selection of rare and mysterious artifacts as well. Also, he created the exotic hand cannon Malfeasance to try and replicate the power and ferocity of the legendary Thorn.

2 RepliesDAMMIT, you stole my post. Although I’m glad you did it before me so I wouldn’t be filled with notifications about comments telling me I’m wrong.

10 RepliesEdited by SkinPoppeR: 9/8/2018 7:36:04 PM“They tried to hide the truth, but we’ve followed its winding path— pieced together the fragmented map of events across time and space. Quite literally, mind you. From Traveler’s shadow to the dark corridors beneath the moon and the long, harrowing journey back again. From the sickness inflicted upon the Crucible to the breaking of Light on the red sands. From a forgotten settlement in the west to the horrors of North Channel and Velor. From the wilds of the Breaklands to the hateful cold of Durga. Finally, then, to Dwindler’s Ridge, where Darkness met pure, angry fire. We’ve traced Yor’s steps from beginning to end and back again. We’ve studied his reign — the terror he seeded, the violence he wrought as if free of conscience. Only to discover a true and terrible thing: he was not simply the monster the legends claim him to be.” - Shadows of Yor The most important thing to remember is what Yor’s/Shadow’s motives were. To expose the lies told to us about “The Light.” We Guardians are not who we think we are. The most important thing to remember about The Drifter is he is the only known living being to survive an encounter with The Darkness itself. The icy moon he was stranded on for years (some say it resides near Saturn) was inhabited by these beings. The Darkness. They methodically killed each of his shipmates in their sleep until all that remained was The Drifter. How did he survive? How did he “Tame The Darkness”? Dear Lord, what did he bring with him in that hideous rock?

1 ReplyThe drifter is dredgen vale. Read the lore.
-
If anything, the Drifter is trying to lure out the Shadows by giving Guardians the title of Dredgen. Just read the Drifter’s Lore Book, it’ll make sense https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-a-drifters-gambit
-
No he’s not. Dredgen Yor is dead. He IS a Shadow of Yor though.
-
Dredgen Yor is dead.
-
2 RepliesDredged Yor is dead. Shin Malfur made sure of that in their encounter where the "First" Golden Gun was used. (Although there is no hint Hinton any part of the lore prove to Shin being the first to ever had used it.) But the drifter could be a Dredgen as after Dredgen Yor was killed his name in full became used as titles. Shadows of Yor for example. So we can see Dredgen now being used as a title.

1 ReplyInorrect. Very incorrect. Dredgen Yor does not have the same sick like humor that Drifter had, if anything all Yor wanted to do was to murder people. And it’s been confirmed by several sources that he is dead. Like dead dead. No ghost kind of dead. But it’s entirely possible that Drifter was a part time member of the Shadows of Yor. What concerns me most though, is why is Drifter here now? Where is the rest of the Cult? And where is Shin Malphur? All reports indicate he’s alive...but....where?

HEY! FANFICTION!
-
9 RepliesEven after doing the mission, I honestly think Dredgen yor is dead. I forget which grimiore card, but shin pumps a couple golden gun shots into him. Chances are, shin’s been hunting shadows of yor and the drifter is a shadow, who wants to draw shin outta hiding
-
No sir. No he is not. The Drifter is definitely a Shadow of Yor, but he isn’t Dredgen Yor himself. Dredgen Yor is dead.
-
I personally don’t think so, that the Drifter is a Shadow chasing after Shin, but I haven’t read all of the lore, so who knows? Also, one thing that may disprove him being Dredgen: He has a shadow. The Shadows and Yor didn’t have a shadow. He also seems a lot more lighthearted than the cold, scary man displaying in the Grimoire.

Edited by Ignisium: 9/9/2018 5:57:13 PMThe malfeasance lore tab talks about hunting down “The man with the golden gun.” Jokers wild is about shin Malphur. Perhaps an organization similar to the shadows of yor has been established by shin malphur?
-
He is certainly a Dredgen, but not Yore. Theres a dredgen triumph for gambit
-
Dregen yor is dead he could be one of the other Dregens though
-
2 RepliesThis information is nothing new. Just look at the lore tab for Malfeasence. The only thing of interest in the Ace in the Hole mission is that Cayde ran with the Drifter at one point and gave him the idea for Gambit.
-
1 ReplyHe also told me when i went to him. "In the 1000 years i have been gone you gaurdians have grown soft"..... "But you....you are different somehow"
-
5 RepliesIf I'm correct, dredgen is a title, he isn't THE dregen yor himself, but he could be another dredgen. Or just a shadow, I don't know. I'm very interested in learning what he's plotting and how his story will go.

Edited by Sheaffer117: 9/9/2018 2:37:27 AMNo yor is dead
-
14 RepliesDregden Yor is dead, he was killed by Shin Malphur and before that he had an argument with his ghost and they parted ways.
-
He’d better not be. That story was one of the better lore items, and I’d hate to see them f it up with that nonsense
-
6 RepliesDrifter is a shadow of yor. Dredgen was killed by shin malphur

1 ReplyAnyone notice the title you get from finishing the Gambit triumphs is Dredgen?
-
1 ReplyHes not Yor, he's a shadow though. He also talks about Efrideet in one of his victory lines. Says something about how she wrecked his bar one day.
