Get good dude. Seriously- people of this entitled outlook are the reason why the game fell into such a spiraling decline- grinding is good. Accomplishment is gratifying. Stop expecting everything to be bequeathed to you

Grinding does not lead to accomplishment. It’s just cogs on a wheel going round and round. There was no reason for them to put several materials (mats, shards, glimmer, etc...) in order to infuse one item. It’s stupid and adds artificial time to move through the game. Time that would be spent experiencing new parts of the game and progressing is required to be spent repeating the same task over and over. An interesting game will hold interest of players without needing the overly artificial and boring time requirements of grinding.

It’s not that bad dude. Planetary bounties, 5 per day, 5 mats each. In two weeks time you’ll have enough to the point that you’ll never run out unless you go on an infusion spree for some reason. Which would be stupid btw, you don’t need to infuse everything immediately. I know it seems annoying, I thought that too but then realized it really isn’t that bad. Patience is good.

You are correct. A player can manage their resources and have no problem. I’m rather indifferent on the whole thing. I don’t have a problem putting Destiny down for a while and doing other things. My point recently has been that there are a bunch of posts complaining about the new grind. Inevitably responses will be that grind is good and that everybody should conform to one play style. It’s not up to one player to tell another what is the right or wrong way to play. I dislike that Bungie added grind on top of grind in this dlc. My response here was that surviving the grind is not an accomplishment. It’s simply doing the same thing repeatedly without getting bored. The fact that they add grind like this to make players that would otherwise not do it is a crappy thing to do to those players. In my opinion it is reflective of the lack of entertaining content.

That’s understandable, although in my eyes the gameplay is usually entertaining for the most part & so obtaining the additional mats and what not is just another part of the routine. I can see how adding extra requirements to the routine would be somewhat of a burden on those players who aren’t able to commit to it on a somewhat regular basis. Even I don’t play everyday - you know because of life, and I know I’ll be set behind the people who do play every day, but like I said, whenever I do play having more things to do is ok with me.

It sounds like I play like you do. I just hate that they put artificial time requirements in with the materials grind. Random rolls should have been enough to keep people doing the same activity over and over looking for something they really wanted. Running loops picking up phasaglass is just dumb and lazy.

Ha yeah you’re not wrong, I don’t know if you played D1 but it was changed early on from a system similar to this one for a reason. That being said given the current system all they would need to do is buff the mats given per bounty a bit and reward mats for completing activities (strikes, pub events, nightfall, adventures) on planets and the problem would be solved. You’d only ever need to pick up mats to do a bounty that says so. But - that’s just the arm-chair designer in me talking now.
