I believe the new infusion system is unfair and a horrible solution to something that I didn't think was a problem. The costs are way too high. I believe that the glimmer cost should be higher because we all have too much glimmer in our inventory. I also don't think it's a horrible idea to include planetary materials as a part of the cost. However, I believe that the legendary shard cost is way too high and I also believe that including a masterwork core cost into it is totally rediculous! I mean, what is the point to all this cost???? Basically, the people that can play this game non-stop and are good at this game will be the ones infusing and enjoying the benefits to it while the rest of us have to wait. Just another way this game is unfairly biased against the casual player and favors either the competitive player or the ones who have all the time in the world to play the game. Take this poll and let me know if you agree or disagree with what I'm saying. If you have any comments please leave them so I can understand what everyone thinks. I think bungie needs to change this and hope this poll with help sway them.

  • You don't need an abundance of them. Sure they are hard to get but whats the point of getting a new gun and then instantly infusing it into you're beast weapon? you are completely ignoring all the content that they have worked on. It only costs 2-3 shards at most, you can use consumables and have a pretty high chance of getting one, or just buy a few from spider. I know some people don't have the time but if you only play for an hour you have enough shards to buy some cores. Again, you DO NOT need an abundance.

If they're going to make MCs a core part of the upgrade system, they need to increase the drop rate. Even if it's just a tiny bit.

  • It’s annoying and I understand that, but I like the fact that it forces people to use new weapons based on whatever power level they have

I don't think the mw requirement is good. I don't mind that infusing the exact same gear into itself only requires 5k glimmer, but it should work differently. Weapons of the same archetype should cost glimmer instead of cores. Rifles should only require 1 core when infusing into each other and the same should go for hand cannons and side arms. Armor is somewhat mitigated by waiting, I guess. It's gonna be a different story once the raid comes out though.

    • "Unfair" is generally a stupid complaint. Also, generally, I prefer the new infusion method - except for the cores.

      • Sure, but if bungie made it cheaper everyone would complain, it’s too easy, where is the grind, I have too much glimmer, blah blah. That’s the destiny community for you, always finding something to bitch about. Players will spend hours trying to get a god roll, but god forbid they have to spend 1 hour farming glimmers and shards.

          • I think it's fine other than its inclusion of Masterwork Cores. Those should have nothing to do with infusion.

            • I want to silence all the people saying that we are just bitching because the grind is too hard, and that we just want it to be easy. Stop. Just. Stop. First of all, all of us ( if not a majority) liked this game because the genre. Which is, looter shooter. This means we joined knowing that there would be a grind, and enjoyed the grind. Why else would you play a game like this if you didn’t? No one, even the ones saying we are bitching, can honestly say that the grind currently is rewarding and fair. No one. Players of this game don’t have an aversion to grinding, we just want a meaningful and fair grind. The concept that progression is linked to a currency that cannot be earned by some reasonable means is ridiculous. Another rebuttal to those claiming we are bitching is that RNG in progression is not sustainable to maintain a happy player base. Look at battlefront 2 from EA and Dice. Loot crates were so integral to progression that you couldn’t progress without them prompting you to spend crazy money to get where you wanted to be in the game. This is happening in a way with Destiny and Foresaken. The “loot crate” known as masterwork cores are so important to level, but there is no way to earn them (and I mean earn literally, not praying to RNGesus for a drop, that’s not earning, that’s praying) . Sure, the milestones for powerful gear are RNG, but what is guaranteed about them is that they will and do warrant upgrades. Spider is the only one who offers guaranteed masterworks. This is analogous to the fact that “loot boxes” cost money. You have to pay $40 to have this feature. Hopefully, I don’t need to remind anyone of the reasons why battlefront failed. I would not mind the current system of infusion if masterwork cores were able to be earned. Before someone says, “So you just want an easier grind?”, no, not at all. Make it cost double or triple the cores, IDGAF, just let me be able to acquire them by playing the game. Upping the drop chances of masterwork weapons to dismantle for cores is not the answer because that will give us the best weapons and armor for no additional work. The answer is to have the cores drop from chest, public events, crucible, etc. and just up the amount it takes to infuse. This keeps the difficulty, but adds so much more in the way of feeling like the grind was meaningful. Progressing, and by extension, leveling should be attainable through hard word, not luck (well a little luck is okay, since it keeps things fresh :) ). Hope I’ve made my point here. Secondly, on a nit-picky note, from a “lore” perspective (for lack of a better term), it makes absolutely no sense that infusing cost masterwork cores on non masterwork, purple gear. The item isn’t masterwork, so why masterwork cores?

                • It won't sway them, it's been proven that you have to generate maximum amount of dissatisfaction in order to sway them from a decision... That out of the way I feel that in certain ways it is a little ridiculous, especially where masterwork cores are concerned, they should not be necessary for infusion and I feel neither armor nor weapons should need them for upgrades until tier 5 . But other than that I have no beef with how they have infusion and such set up.

                • Okay so I’m not in favor of the masterwork requirement at all, for infusion that is, glimmer I feel is that one thing that everybody either has max or none so I don’t see that as an issue, but my question is why are you worrying about infusion? Just go get Y2 legendaries that have better rolls. I understand certain weapons are really good like the EP shotty, and some exotics like the Whisper, but I think this is Bungie’s solution to prevent another HoW from D1 from happening so I’m in favor of it, just not the cores, maybe if it only took 1 core and not 3

Something worth mentioning. If you infuse two identical items, the cost is just glimmer. Nameless into Nameless is 5000. No material, shards, or cores. I think this system was implemeted to bring back D1Y1 level grind. Remember farming 80 mats to upgrade perks? This is similar. I am going to play with all the new weapons. Since most of the collection for S4 is open, I already know that a Y2 Nameless exits and can be located in strikes. I will level up to the soft cap, wait for the raid light requirements (since NF is 540, it's safe to bet that raid will be 550), then infuse at that point. No need to infuse every couple of points. Find the weapons you love and weapons for Crucible, if different, and infuse when you get a >500 roll.

                • Masterwork cores have to be removed from it. Since i use the few i have for infusion, i cant mw a weapon. Grinded all through Year 1 but never had a lot of mw cores. Rng has not been on my side for that. Some will have 200 even now, i havent even had 100 total cores between when it was released and now. Shitty rng makes this infusion system very painfull.

                • This is pretty much the reason i rage quit and deleted all 3 404 characters right finishing the story and seeing all the new infusion requirements, just recently made a hunter, because friends begged me to come back, but the passion is no longer there, hopefully in D3 they do a fresh start again and get everything right, but I highly doubt it

I think infusion is ok, but why do we have to use MW cores if it's not a MW weapon? But you can grind the Tangled Shore and get most of the materials from The Spider. edit:content

                  • I think MW cores should only be included IF you are infusing into something that's ALREADY a masterwork piece of gear. Glimmer costs are fine. Shards don't concern me... yet I could deal with maybe 10-15 planetary materials, and not 25.

There has got to be a class about how to proper set up polls. Most of them are misleading and the way that you listed them is obvious clickbate.

                    • The only thing that bothers me is the masterwork cores, I stopped playing the game right before Curse of Osiris came out due to disappointment and not having the dlc(because I was smart and chose not to burn myself by getting the season pass...... too bad they made me buy it anyways......) so I don’t have too many masterwork cores due to not getting very many masterworks and it really just feels like they are punishing me for not sticking with the game.
