Seriously Bungo..... I just knew you were gonna screw the community over one way or another.... The cost for infusing ANYTHING is astronomical. Who approved this?
Not all of us are pro streamers who play this game all day compiling massive amounts of legendary shards, masterwork cores, etc.
Now it costs way too much glimmer, plus legendary shards, PLUS masterwork cores...PLUS planetary mats... And we are given so little of each as we play... We get 1-3 of an item... You want three times as much to infuse into our gear we already have, or have gotten.
And why does it cost masterwork cores if I'm not attaching a masterwork item to a weapon/armor? Or the weapon/armor piece is already masterworked? And 5,000 - 10,000 glimmer per item? Up to 5 legendary shards? Plus 2-3 masterwork cores? And then 10-25 planetary mats??
I thought you were dragging out the grind before.... But this is friggin' highway robbery. Your asking too much, and giving us back waaaay too little as we collect mats and such.
Open a chest, you get 1-2 mats, where last week we got 4.. HVTs gave 4-12... And now you've throttled that. And getting mod components.... Cost you 10 mod components to purchase ONE from Banshee......
I haven't even gotten to the campiagn yet... So this post is just about trying to grind and level up.... But at this cost... I'm not sure if I want to log back on today... Or ever again... Much less purchase the Anal Pass, because I'm sure that's where your gonna nail us as we keep falling for your lies.
If this was your overlord Acitivsion... Doesn't matter.. This cost of infusion should never have been instituted... You people need a QA person to check your sh*t before crap like this makes it out the door.... It's like you want this to fail... Or your all as incompetent as the community believes you have been since launch day of D1

4 RepliesI use what I get at its current level, no upgrades. Cost is to force grinding and I have no more interest. With random rolls, it is more important to save any upgrading until you really like something. My prior gear will be upgraded, but only as I need to do so. Ran Public Events and got to 500/50 before doing anything with Powerful Gear rewards. Doing those one at a time. Campaign not completed. More interested in reaching 600 than killing Barons or Uldren. I’m not allowed to place their heads on a pike in my garden as a warning to all that the price of killing Cayde -6 is too high, so... And, YES, high upgrade cost is an obvious ploy to force play. Fail. PVP requirements are to force PVP so justifications can be made for all that time wasted on that mode in development. Still cannot make a good experience after 4+ years. Raid released in another week, took me 2 years to raid after a Crota. I can wait. Rewards are still mediocre compared to the effort required. If the effort used to force monotonous grinding was placed into Fun Factor, there would be more playing, less complaining and a happier community. Dreams...

9 RepliesIf they took out masterwork cores from the cost, I'd be ok with grinding the rest. Masterwork cores should be for making MASTERWORK GEAR, as the name implies.

8 Replies"Not all of us are pro streamers who play this game all day compiling massive amounts of legendary shards, masterwork cores, etc." Nor are most of us like Bungie staff who devote an entire work week to this game but they don't seem to realize that. It's been true since the beginning of D1. They're completely out of touch with the realities of most of the people who play this game. Of course we'll get the usual taunts from people who say "I had no problem doing any of this stuff. Why should you?" obviously implying that just because the circumstances that exist for them to spend a massive amount of grind time on this game exists for everyone else. It's single biggest reason I've forsaken Forsaken and am now playing other games instead of doing the endlessly repetitive, tedious grinds for minuscule rewards that Destiny seems to be all about. Thank you for confirming what I expected would be the case with Forsaken. I'm not gonna spend every second of my available free time chasing after all of this BS.

8 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 9/6/2018 11:54:25 PMThis is nothing personal, just saying. I can't say I'm surprised because it's to be expected when it comes to Bungie and what content they offer. A lot of you are acting like something like this is a "surprise" and the funny thing about it? A hell of a lot of you gamers knew there was going to be a catch, but now some of you are upset? I would figure 4 years later if anyone is a D1 gamer that they would know this company by now. I guess some people will never catch on. (Bungie is too damn predictable lol.) When it comes to stretching out what little content they offer, to be honest, none of you really have the right to complain knowing this companies actions, especially this entire first year. Do you want to know a secret?
This is in no way in hell the first time Bungie pulled something like this and I can Guarantee that this won't be the last time that things like this will continue throughout Destiny lifespan. I wish more gamers would actually wake up and face reality.
2 RepliesThere are plentiful bounties to get what you need. As for MW, you can buy them. Or, level up vendors and get lucky with a MW drop to dismantle. Quit your whining. You don't need to level up every piece of gear just yet. Only a few.
-
4 Repliesare you grinding to level up before doing the story in that lets get to 500 and try and be as high as possible mode...if so your an idiot, I did the story no grinding started at 385..im 502 with all the other stuff still to do and I didnt infuse anything im just wearing whatever I drop and will look at that sort of stuff in the end gaem...DONT INFUSE WHEN YOU ARE LEVELING UP ITS POINTLESS!!
-
I'm sure they meant well, but they turned infusion into a chore. It's those tiny bits of achievement that keep me playing sometimes and this might kill the game for me. As a casual gamer, I simply don't have the time or desire to deal with pointless busy work in my game that's supposed to be fun.
-
Ha! U said Anal
-
But when you find a duplicate it doesn’t cost cores to infuse it. I am actually ok with the changes now that I found that out.
-
It's just the latest way of extending the grind. Gotta keep people "busy" until Christmas.
-
1 ReplyWhaa! It's too much of a grind! Whaa! This is what happens when Bungie targets casuals for D2 then tries to update it to be more challenging and grindy. And never play Warframe. The cost to upgrade shit is ridiculous. Makes Destiny seem like they're giving upgrades away for free. What a bunch of scrubs.
-
They always do this, make the cost of leveling super high to extend playtime...then "LiStEn To FeEdBaCk" and then patch it to what everyone wanted in the first place. It was like that in vanilla D1, Forsaken King, hell even the start of D2. The fact that this community continues to be surprised is just crazy to me.

2 RepliesEdited by Entr0p1k: 9/6/2018 7:26:04 PMAs much as I hate agreeing with this whiny ass community on anything I do agree that infusion cost is a bit steep. Now for me personally this doesn't impact me because I have a massive amount of pretty much every material imaginable because I play this game an unhealthy amount. And while I don't usually particularly care about the plight of the casual, even I have to admit the infusion cost is a bit steep. The average player is going to end up spending most of their time just trying to accumulate materials rather than actually playing the game and that is not a good thing for the general health of the player base. Overall though I do want the cost of everything to be on the higher side. Yes an adjustment needs to be made so casuals have a fighting chance, but it is important that a decent level of grind is maintained.
-
I think what I enjoy more than the Legitimate frustration I see you guys deal with Is this fake pretense of being surprised by Bungie's behavior
-
and the people calling other "snowflakes" for bot wanting to grind all day and night, some of us have full time jobs, families, college work, AND want to play other games too. It's not a hard concept that having a rare material is a BAD idea.
-
YUP. The people who had enough and stoped playing basically got screwed. I'm not putting enough time in to get enough master cores to infuse all the gear i want. I'm out after the story missions
-
2 RepliesYour first mistake is infusing shit this early anyway. Do the campaign first. Then if your not at 50 and 500 then grind pub events. Once you hit 50 and 500 then collect you powerful engrams last. After that is the only time you should even consider infusion if you favorite rolls.
-
11 Repliespeople who can't manage in game resources most likely can't handle real world finances either. it's not a problem, everything is very easily earned, and can be purchased. don't be foolish and infuse everything you get wasting your resources, hit the soft cap, assemble decent gear worth infusing, then build yourself up smartly. or waste everything infusing into old gear trying to keep up appearances then come here and cry it costs too much.....
-
Edited by Scorpius XX1: 9/6/2018 11:05:48 PMThank the d1 crybabies for this one. They wanted d1 material farming back for some grindy reason. I honestly can't imagine why anyone would want the good old days of roaming around waiting for mats to spawn, but here we are. But some players have good advice down there. Just get to the soft cap, don't even finish the campaign until you do. Just wear the blue stuff. Don't infuse anything, it's pointless.
-
Exactly.

Edited by BoomboxCollosus: 9/6/2018 10:20:35 PMTHIS is why I won't be Getting a season pass or continuing with Destiny any longer after this. THIS expansion was suppossed to "fix the game" and then they pull garbage like this from the get go and take a dump on meaningful progression. YET ANOTHER way to nerf leveling up and synthetically pad out their game. I simply won't go through another cycle of this, It's dumb, repetative, tedious and boring and I'm over it. Anthem will be here this winter and I'll be abandoning Destiny FOR GOOD after that. I hope the Raid is good (unlike most of the others) so I can say my farewells and end on a good note, but the last one was the first I never bothered to finish cuz it sucked ballz. AT this point, not even sure I want to grind out enough level to even bother doing it. You let me down for the last time Bungie. It was a good time in year one, this year was just a WASTE of time. I held out but you will SIMPLY NEVER LEARN.
-
You can get 30+ per day of the planet materials by just doing bounties on that planet and you lol get more cuz you’ll find cheat and do public events as u go along
-
3 Repliesyou do know that when you have the two of the same weapons to infuse only cost glimmer? So if you have one of the new legendary's with a good roll at a low level, you can infuse a higher level of the same weapon for just glimmer if you don't like the rolls on the higher level version.
-
Its week one.... ...take your meds.
-
1 Replyback in the VOG days, we grind in the raid for upgrade...
