What happens when I buy a bundle and I already own the game?

So I was going to buy the Destiny 2 Legendary Collection, but I already have Destiny 2. I’m worried that it may delete my progress or something. The game is digital and I am on Xbox one. Can somebody please help me before I buy it?

You won't lose any progress as progress is saved server side not client side. You could literally delete everything from the system you are playing on, reinstall it and your characters will be there waiting.

It won't let you buy the bundle if you already own D2 digitally.
