A friend and I conducted an experiment after some weird interactions between Golden Gun and Sentinel Shield Guard in Crucible.
For this experiment, we used no exotics other than the Celestial Nighthawk, as it essentially functions as its own Golden Gun variant.
Classic 3 Shot Golden Gun vs Sentinel Shield Guard:
Interactions with this revealed that if all 3 of the Golden Gun shots are landed on the Sentinel Shield, both Supers will end, essentially negating each other.
Winner: Draw
Celestial Nighthawk Golden Gun vs Sentinel Shield Guard:
Surprisingly, the strongest of the Golden Gun Variants is unable to defeat the Sentinel Shield. The Golden Gun Super ends, but the Sentinel Shield Super will still maintain at least half of its energy to continue the fight.
Winner: Sentinel
6 Shooter Golden Gun vs Sentinel Shield Guard:
This one was even more surprising to both of us. The 6 Shooter is supposed to be the weakest variant of Golden Gun, but strangely, it’s the only one that can completely take down the Sentinel Shield Super and still stay active. It only takes 4 shots from 6 Shooter to take down the Super, leaving 2 to finish the job.
Winner: Gunslinger.
Conclusion:
It’s pretty weird how this is working:

1 ReplyInteresting. Is it possible that the Shield/Golden Gun interaction isn't damage based, but is instead 'number of hits' based, with some variation depending on Gunslinger tree? Does CN damage to the shield change based on which Gunslinger tree you're using?
