Sniper rifle reticle visibility and contrast need attention
Why does every sniper in this game have the exact same tiny, barely visible red reticle? Bungie please give us reticle color or visibility options. In game settings do nothing to help visibility. I really don't think that exotic snipers and legendary snipers like Silicon Neuroma should have the exact same reticle as a green/common sniper. There are so many times when I lose my reticle entirely, bc of the horrible flinch factor and complete lack of contrast in certain environments and against anything with a solar shield. The Silicon Neuroma was first dropped with a unique star shaped reticle that was awesome and then was later changed to the same exact one every other sniper has without explanation. I think at least exotic snipers should have unique reticles. That's all. Just want to see my reticle when ADS in all environments in D2.

I noticed this on Hellas basin last night, the reticle on my Anniella is red and so is all of Mars’ terrains. I mean I couldn’t see it at all sometimes especially with mountains in the background.

In general the game has lost a lot of great visual communication that halo had and it shows how little they understand the importance of it. Though considering other aspects I wonder how deliberate it is in the name of inclusion and hampering players that have more potential.

Agreed. I lose the reticle a lot when snipping. The contrast for a lot of things need attention, like the tiny white text over light backgrounds. My poor eyes!

1 ReplyThe more you play the better you get at judging where the reticle should be. Switched to a different sniper and got the loading in model (everything is invis, including the scope) and got 3 headshots on a captain without the reticle. Just a circle and I still landed the shots.

I'm colour blind and have struggled with this. I hardly snipe because of it. Also void and ark shields look the same to me, I never call out crystals in eater of worlds

4 RepliesI have complained about that since d1, seems every sniper has that tiny red dot or worse a completely white scope and reticle, I literally can't count the amount of times I scoped in only to start swinging around trying to find my reticle as it blends into the bright background. Any game at this point should have the option to choose reticle size, color, etc. Most games already do, battlefield has done it, I believe call of duty and overwatch have offered it for years, a great show of that system is battlefield 4 which allowed complete customisation of scopes and reticles. Hopefully we can get this sooner then later.

I agree very much with this. As a person who wears glasses it’s hard enough. Never mind trying to see a quarter inch dot light red in a see if red. I miss so many shots trying to line when they were already lined up in the first place. So much this!!!!

Agreed. They all blend into the background for me.
