The Orpheus nerf has really pissed me off when it comes to Nightstalker (and yes overall, it’s a nerf that can be considered a buff in very specific circumstances). I used to have to tether 10 enemies (give or take) and I knew I was going to get my super back. Now? I had to tether around 14-16 red bars to get it back. I hardly used to use Nightstalker in PvP or PvE, except when I was doing public events, or my team needed an orb generator. Now, anything outside of escalation protocol, I will be used Arcstrider or Golden gun. Nightstalker doesn’t feel worth the trouble.

  • Orbs and super seems to generate faster now anyway. Even if you’re not back to 100% after a tether, you will be in 15 seconds.

  • I’m a Orpheusstalker, since the first time I put them on. I run top tree for the invis on dodge with dodge set to reload. I am PvE and until recently I ran mostly solo. I can see both sides of the OR adjustment. It will now take a little more thought to tether. There is no longer the “panic” ability. This being said, with a little thought to the tether we should have no problems. In a LS I got back more than half my super tethering the boss and 1 maybe 2 red bars, on the flip side it was about the same with about 7-9 red bars. I don’t see it as a nerf as much as a balance. I sucks to pop a boss and get nothing in return, now it’s different. It will simply be an adjustment but still very effective in a Fireteam.

You have to know wait to find another group to tether to create orbs... twthering the frist group gives you GARBAGE for super energy. This ks my main class/character as well and when your in a prestige raid and need orbs to support your squad now what do you do??? Nothing actually.. the tether is dead bro.. sorry i dont see the sense in that. Leave the changes/balance but leave in the feature that you can retether the same group and create more orbs. Beyond that wat is the point?? And with all due respect dont give me that crap that i dont know how to use it... its my main, i know what im doing.

  • I can see your point and never implied people dont know how to use it. I'm aware that I'm not the only Orpheusstalker in the game. I can also say I haven't had a chance to play any endgame content in the past couple days. So you may be very right. As I said in another post, I will be testing the effectiveness myself over the past few days. I truly hope that we can figure out a balance and adjust because you are correct. Without the benefit of OR it can devalue our subclass beyond belief. Stay Gold Guardian

Im really pissed about this so excuse my aggitation. The class right now is just dead bro. Generating enough orbs so we have a chance at argos, calus and even at that dude from sos was huge as a support raid team member. As you well know you really had to pick your shots, know when to use the tether, know when NOT to use it, when to save it.. how many ads in real time you needed to know you are getting it back... dude its not just easy tether and go.. and now ALL OF THAT IS GONE. In pvp it was pointless since you barely got enough energy back with tethering a few players. I honestly hoped they would bump the amount of energy you would get back in pvp to balance it out but i was ok with. Actually thr new blades void subclass was cool because we tether hunters had a viable offensive AND defensive/support void option but nope.. thats effing dead too now. But now that didnt happen AND we get a massive nerf on the pve side and where the nightalker was KING for support!!! ???? It makes zero sense and bungie should be ashamed of themselves disguising this as a buff cuz its blatantly a nerf.

  • Although I dislike the nerf to O-rig, you have to admit that one exotic pretty much killed all diversity when comes to running exotics on Nightstalker. If you ran nightstalker 9/10 times you would also be running O-rig. So it only makes sense it was nerfed it because it was over centralizing the subclass. Now if graviton forfeit could be buff that would be great.

Now if graviton forfeit could be buff that would be great.[/quote] The problem is, there are no other good PvE Nightstalker exotic outside of Orpheus. There was no diversity to begin with. None of the other exotics help Nightstalker in any significant way. Bungie just nerfed the only exotic Nightstalkers use but didn’t provide an alternative. Maybe if graviton Forfeit made invisibility last as long as the D1 Invisibility combos then maybe people would use it but then again invisibility in D2 isn’t as valuable in PvE as it was in D1 so even then it might not be too useful.

  • Because of the OR nerf? Meh.. still has the best neutral game out of all classes and subclasses with NO competition lol. I don't see enough people using smoke grenades in PvE. People complained about hobgoblins during solar singe with the glass modifier (heroic strikes)? Toss a smoke at em and you're good. Your smokeless teammate got sniped? Hit B twice for an easy revive. Also, any gun you're holding gets reloaded on that dodge.

  • How does nightstalker have the best neutral game? Genuinely want to know since i never use it in pvp.

The only thing that actually seems nice about Nightstalker is the invisibility. Maybe if tether boost power weapons too (like it did in D1) so I could help in DPS phases, I’d find it to be more useful but as it is now, I can’t say really enjoy it.

  • I guess they assumed or maybe planned on having more orange bar ads around. To give it more energy it still didn’t need to change though.
