Why nerf explosive payload again?

I don't get it. How was explosive payload in any position to be nerfed? Literally no one has asked for this. It was great at the start of D2, then you nerfed it. Then is was just ok, then you just nerfed it again. Can you not just leave well enough alone?? Not complaining but there are a lot of things in this update that seem completely unnecessary.

  • Do want all the weapons in the arsenal to be useful and competitive....or just the ones with some form of explosive round? Because whenever I need to compensate for primary weapon damage getting dialed back....or enemies getting super-tanky...I pull out one weapon. Nameless Midnight. I don't now about you, but I'd like to be able to use a variety of weapons without feeling like I'm handicapping myself.

Explosive rounds are now worse than a negative perk they're actually a debuff. After some basic PVE testing on dergs in Trostland, i came up with these numbers (I still had the numbers from the previous nerf as well). Base game: I don't have exact numbers because it was the same as in d1 and tested it there, but here's a summary Non explosive rounds Body: 1x Crit: 3x Explosive rounds Body Impact: 0.5x Explosion: 1x Total: 1.5x Crit Impact: 2x Explosion: 1x Total: 3x Basically in the base game Explosive rounds increased body shot damage by 50% and kept crit damage the same. In the first nerf, the numbers against the dregs in Trostland. Non explosive rounds Body: 62 Crit: 173 Explosive rounds Body Impact: 31 Explosion: 50 Total: 81 Crit Impact: 111 Explosion: 50 Total: 161 After the first nerf, Explosive rounds increased body shot damage by 33% and decreased crit damage by about 7%, so it actually decreased maxium dps but not by too much. Now the results for patch 2.0, against the dregs of Trostland Non explosive rounds Body: 51 Crit: 161 Explosive rounds Body Impact: 26 Explosion: 33 Total: 59 Crit Impact: 101 Explosion: 33 Total: 134 Now Explosive rounds increase body shot damage by about 16% and decrease crit damage by about 16% as well. So now Explosive rounds only increases your dps if you get more body shots than crits which no one really want's to do and otherwise significantly decreases your dps.

It was probably nerfed to balance out the y2 mod system. Certain mods boost damage against majors and adds. I'm assuming.

        • Itll will be because of the change they did at the start of the season. I'm pretty sure it was changed to less direct damage and more payload damage with this sandbox it makes sense to nerfed it

          • Explosive Rounds got nerfed again? Is this in the release notes? they killed its Effectiveness with the last nerf so that would be crazy
