Can we, like, talk about the fact that the Spider uses a Ghost shell as a fidget toy? This is a serious issue. Probably the best thing in this trailer...just amazing!
Now seriously, the few cutscenes we see in the launch trailer definitely confirm we are in for a darker, more serious story. Ikora’s and Zavala’s reactions to Cayde’s body, basically that entire scene with our guardians being dimly lit, just...wow. Even if that’s all the cutscenes (which I don’t believe), for me, that’s a definite improvement. The Spider seems very interesting as well. And what is Uldren doing with the shard? Now he’s burning Mara’s throne and having weird hallucinations of her? Man...I hope this all will be as good in game as in Bungies infamous hype trailers.
8 RepliesBeen spitballing a theory with my co-worker that Cayde will die pretty early into the DLC, and possibly for one of the final missions, you get a dead ghost from spider to "re-ignite". You'll take it to the shard of the traveler or something similar, reboot the dead ghost, and now we have a way to resurrect cayde.
i just really don't want cayde to be gone for good
2 RepliesDid you know: In the updated Prison of Elders in D1 year 2 April Update, the cabal have hanged many, many shells of dead ghosts on 'strings' from their burning ship in the middle of the arena? Probably assumed to show how many guardians they killed in their arena by hanging their ghosts as 'trophies'?

Anyone ever watched the movie The Golden Compass where the Bear King wanted his own demon? The Spider has a ghost for exactly the same reason.

I think it's just the fallen way of saying that the ghost are comparable to figit spinners

3 RepliesI have a theory about this that is kinda similar to what byf said, it basically said the fallen are intrigued by ghosts as they probably had fallen guardians that used ghosts as well, I kinda think it’s like that but the reason they have dead ghosts is cause it reminds them of home and how it is kinda a coping mechanism they use to feel safer.
