I think this would be a good addition. By "cook" I mean being able to hold them before you throw them to shorten the detonation time.
This could also apply to suppressor grenades and flashbang grenades.

2 RepliesI'd like it better if they all exploded on impact, I think there are some that already do

I just want the ability to "cook" my Spicy Ramen rather than eat it raw all the time.
-
No need. They have a set timer that goes off shortly after the first bounce. For me it has always been easy to use them. They need a damage buff, but otherwise they feel fine.
-
2 RepliesThey detonate shortly after impacting something so it’s not like it’s a hassle to explode on time. Just gotta be mindful of where you throw it.
-
1 ReplyIncendiary grenades and suppressor grenades should have a cook option hate seeing them bounce past an opponent blow up and do nothing
-
3 RepliesOr just use ashen wake with fusion nades, your welcome

Edited by Mareep: 8/26/2018 8:23:59 PMI disagree with cooking them. While at first glance it may seem useful for a more accurate grenade, it will only result in a range lacking grenade. By introducing cooking a grenade onto an incendiary grenade you give a limited set time before it detonates when it doesn't currently have that. Right now grenades go off about a second after they hit a surface. Cooking grenades would definitely be a nerf in my opinion because of the maximum preset time it will have before detonating after it leaves your hand. It is possible to cause an early explosion by bouncing it before you hit a target to either maximize the AOE damage or to surprise an enemy guardian in the crucible.

4 RepliesEdited by zNapSack: 8/26/2018 7:41:34 AMIn reality I’ve willfully “cooked” a grenade only a very limited number of times. Which was far too many. That said, there is also what is known as ‘’milking’ a grenade, which is a very dangerous thing to do, and is usually done inadvertently. I’ll explain: If you relax the pressure on the safety lever, colloquially referred to as the “spoon”, after the safety clip and safety pin have been removed, the striker can rotate and strike the primer while you’re still holding the grenade. That’s bad. Therefore, you MUST maintain enough pressure on the safety lever so the striker can’t rotate, unbeknownst to you. And when you’re in a sketchy situation that’s getting more so by the second, your fine motor skills quickly become a lot less skillful. So the difference between willfully “cooking” one and inadvertently ‘milking’ it is subtle and thus very risky. So it should only be done as a last resort. SgtMaj, U.S. Army (Ret.) MOS 18B. Btw, I admit I suck in the Crucible.

1 ReplyWhy? They aren’t going to kill any faster.
-
3 Repliesonly Warlocks can do this, you know cause Warlock Master Race 👈
-
I’d rather them just rework it to be more like a Molotov or dragons breath (the update one) in D1.
-
6 RepliesOr, you know, just wear the arms that make them explode on impact
-
The scorch cannons have this feature, satisfy your urge in the crucible!
-
If it cooks too long it explodes in your hand
-
Well that's one way to get... Burned.
-
It's not needed. This isn't rainbow six siege you want to cook grenades go back to that game, cod or battlefield. Same goes for the time to kill because I figured this out if you want two shot handcannon go back to playing spy on team fortress 2 where one head shot and one body shot withba revolver kills. Seriously stop bringing different game mechanics into this one it's not needed at all.
-
I'm afraid my grenade would pop in my hand because they don't have a very long activation timer. I already suppress myself enough as it is... Just make them detonate faster when in proximity of enemies.
-
2 RepliesYes and no While cooking would be an interesting mechanic, find that right angle for the perfect bounce is such a satisfying thing Back in the good ol days when you'd see that 170 from the initial explosion and moving on to the next guy knowing the burn would do its job -sighs-
-
Only if I can I can let it blow up in my hands lol
-
You can’t exactly cook a grenade that goes off as soon as it hits an object🤪

14 RepliesEdited by PkmnGymLeader: 8/26/2018 1:41:26 AMWhat would be the point? They already detonate based on impact, so doing this wouldn't really make much difference. If they would want to add it properly, they would have to completely redesign the way grenades work, and there's just no need for that when they work fine right now. Plus, that would bug the shit out of people like myself who like consistency. When one grenade can be cooked but no others can, that's the kind of thing that really bothers me.
-
I mean, maybe give it ashen flux, and make it so you can do it with any grenade that has a delay on it. That would include: - Incendiary - Fusion - Magnetic - Suppressor - Flashbang Or just make all grenades detonate on impact with the Ashen Flux. Give it a purpose I suppose.
-
They already have the animation down with warlocks, so I think this is a good idea
-
The already detonate after one bounce, so I don't really see the point.
-
If not that, at least holding them like voidlocks with top tree would be nice. Gives you more time to aim and still lets people flick with them.
-
I'd say not mainly because the fuse time is short already to the point that once it hits the ground, probably got a second until it detonates.
