I don't need it at all I play on both pc and console and aim assist just screws me up more then It helps me like shooting at another player while another runs by him and my aim locks on to that player and gets me killed. I have aim assist turned off in the settings but the embedded magnetism has always killed me, playing on PC feels so much better for that reason alone

I'd say the game should just be smart enough to prioritize your targets to avoid pulling the reticule off. Honestly, it can't be that hard to program a timer into the game and cancel the acquiring of a new target if you're already stuck to one - ESPECIALLY if you're ADS...
-
Ow gawd, yes PLEEEEEEZ! I get that it’s more than likely sometimes useful. But whenever I recognize aim-assist is when my reticle pulls away from my intended target. Utterly frustrating! Please add a toggle, even as a way to challenge ourselves. Hell, even add a trophy or shader or something for finishing activities with no aim-assist. Just allow me to turn it off.

Hahah have you played Bungie games? Grabbing people's aim assist is totally professional gaming bruh Hahaha
-
Yeah, this should be an option for sure. If someone wants to play with AA on - fine, let them. But for those who don't, there should be a way to disable it. Just like the helmet on / helmet off option in settings. AA on / AA off. (Each player can decide). Why am I forced to aim at the closest person or shoot a grenade into a wall instead of around the corner? It's a FPS, if I don't get to aim at what I actually want, what else is under my control? Running and jumping? (I guess if I hide in the corner I can use my super once a game but....) Anyway, with the way Bungie bang on about player choice, you think they'd give us the choice to aim at what we want....

1 ReplyEdited by Laser Kittens: 8/25/2018 2:46:37 PMI'd be willing to bet that aim assist helps you more than you may realize (but I'm not you so I can't say that with 100% certainty). However!! It would be nice if there was "smart target" where if you're aiming at someone and/or damaging them, the sights wouldn't get pulled by a random passerby.

2 RepliesNative mouse support in the game on PS4 wouldn't hurt either. On PC you can use either controller or mouse, would be great to see that on consoles as well. Just in case if you didn't know, PS4 has native mouse + keyboard support. It is up to the game to use it.

Thanks guys didn't expect this much traction!

1 ReplyCan you use MnK on PS4?🤪

1 ReplyMake it a slider.

Yeah, and hopefully you will start a huge trend, too.
-
But then you would also lose your magnetism on your bullets. Not more missing head shots and still getting a headshot. Aim assist isn't just reticle stickiness.
-
I like it on but some people don’t and the option to turn it off would be cool.
-
The magnetism is especially noticeable when in the tank holy moly. I literally was not allowed to shoot something explosive to kill everything because it would rather try and veer off towards an AI. Also related the 180 and generally auto targeting melees are also annoying. Any meleeing in 3rd person especially because it just cannot prioritize as you are wanting. They should have kept things to first person at the least.

4 RepliesI agree with this, and I play solely on Console. I simply cannot tolerate having my character ROTATE on their own, or throw a grenade directly at a target, rather than the wall behind the target as intended. It's even worse when you are hard scoped on a target, shooting him in the head, and someone happens to run behind him, and drags your aim away with him. At least the ability to turn it off, just like some people like to play without the HUD, or in colorblind mode, or without music. I personally want a more visceral experience... not a game that does everything but pull the trigger for me... even though warlocks can kill people simply by standing in their well.

2 RepliesYes. There should be an option to switch it off.

3 RepliesTHIS. PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY. PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO TURN OFF AIM ASSIST ON CONSOLE IF WE SO CHOOSE!!!!!!! This way, if you like it, you can have it, if you don't - THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE IT. Soooooo many other games on console have this option....why not D2???

38 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 8/24/2018 2:19:01 PMTurning it off would make the experience of playing on console miserable for most people. Killzone: Shadowfall is reported to have no aim-assist....and it feels absolutely horrible compared to Destiny. If you're playing on PC with a controller, there is still AA. If you're playing with M&K, if feels good playing without it because of the natural precision designed into a computer mouse. Which no thrumb-controlled joystick can replicate without aim-assist. What Bungie needs to do though is adjust how it is programmed. There are FAR more incidents of closely clustered/fast-moving enemies that interfere with your aim in Destiny 2 versus Destiny 1. But you dont' have to turn off AA to deal with that....you just have to **fix** it.

6 RepliesJust go to ur settings and turn it off - ur welcome

Remember the Eye Patch skull in Halo? Bungie's description said: "Aim assist is disabled for all weapons. You’ll miss it when it’s gone."
-
Playing in Crucible this "aim assist" magnet pisses me off all the time, along with the crap sensitivity options for the PS4. I would much rather aim and miss than have the game move my aim across the screen for me.
