Whats the point of DARCI staying a power weapon?
I get Acrius staying Power because its a damn strong shotty
I get Tractor staying power because that shit buffs void like crazy
I get whisper staying power because its a damn beat at DPS
But why DARCI? WOTW already outclasses it. At least in the special slot it gives you a reason to use it rather than Whisper.
It would be the best sniper we know of in the special slot but weaker than WOTW. So the trade off is i can use it in my special and do less damage but use a heavy still.

40 RepliesDarci has been tested to do more damage then whisper in a shot span of time it just depends on the encounter like for Argos darci is better and for calus whisper is better.

1 ReplySo... Does this mean Borealis and Sleeper are being moved to special¿? Cause with the right set up, Borealis is basically Whisper... Speaking of Borealis, Bungie said the hunter Dodge will now be classified as a "reload" instead of "magic bullet giver" and since Borealis bonus dmg goes away on reload....🤔

1 ReplyDARCI is there for:- - People who don't have the time / patience / willpower to get the Whisper / Sleeper. - People who don't have the Borealis / PS4. - cant afford to cough up whatever people are charging for carries. (ill do it for free). - you know that Captain on Titan? - you know that Ketch on Titan? - when everyone destroys it before its Heroic, you switch to DARCI - so when you get inspected, - you are SAFE.

I used it when during Prestige Spire awhile ago(when that was the load out). The group I was running with were using whisper but used lunafaction with it for some reason, so I just threw DARCI on.

Just because Darci isn’t the #1 sniper doesn’t mean that it isn’t insanely powerful. Besides it allows for triple sniper loadouts even if you didn’t get whisper

Sure, WotM will have longevity, but burst damage can trump longevity. Slap on a Luna rift and you'll have great burst damage. B: Crucible my man. DARCI is one of the highest aim assist snipers in the game AND has a gigantic magazine size (perfect for Gambit :) ), granting it a lot of ammo on even small pickups. That in itself is worth the heavy slot. I reckon most other snipers in the other slots won't break nearly as high (maybe 5 in the mag, tops). C: That's like saying 'Acrius shouldn't be in the heavy slot because EP shotty exists.' It just doesn't work that way. Acrius is a boss of a gun and absolutely wreck. Not as 'fast' as EP shotty, and doesn't synergize as well as EP shotty, but it by no means makes it 'not worth using' in the heavy slot. D: Sometimes people get tired of feeling like they need to land 3 shots all the time. DARCI is a killer add weapon too and allows you to pick off enemies but at your own pace. E: You can only have one exotic on anyway. So moving it to special would do nothing if 'all you use is WotM' you're not going to have, the more important, exotic slot open in the first place. Look, if D1 snipers can have Black Spindle AND Icebreaker, and have them all take the same spot, and not absolutely kill off every other sniper for use... then it'll work in D2. Preference takes priority sometimes.

Probably not after the nerf to whisper but overall this sniper is one of the top dps snipers out there.

Nothing in the game does more burst DPS than DARCI (Edit: except the EP shotgun), and that's been proven in many vids. Additionally, you can hit the DARCI shots at whatever pace you like, whereas Whisper has a minimum shot pace requirement to get the reloads. All in all, DARCI is the best burst DPS weapon in the game, the second best overall sniper in the game, and with the catalyst, genuinely enjoyable to use. It's no wonder it's staying in the power slot. Edit: Yeah, yeah, EP shotgun, I get it. You know what I'm trying to get at though.

And I think its because people are conflating Burst damage and DPS. Heres a spreadsheet from reddit that shows the damage comparison between whisper and Darci https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ozzjf_btI0opxFPOEZ1VI1xmYGDenRp4e8E87__1oAg/edit?usp=drivesdk If you scroll down the spreadsheet until about the 8 second mark you'll see that DARCI is the superior burst damage weapon in the game. It does more damage in a shorter period of time up until that 8 second mark. So if DPS windows are super short in the Dreaming City raid then Darci is the superior weapon. Whisper is a superior weapon only if you are able to continue past this 8 second breaking point without reloading, which is easy to do with lunafaction boots but you lose the added bonus of gaining your 3 shots from nothing.

DARCI is still the 2nd best sniper that's available to everyone. Still miles above anything in the Legendary bracket.

DARCI has higher Burst DPS, the second highest in the game, actually. Only lower than EP shotgun. And with the nerf to box breathing that WONT effect DARCI, it speaks for itself

9 RepliesDarci does more damage per shot. Where whisper come in handy is that on raid bosses when you hit 3 crits you aren’t using ammo. If your in a raid using a darci the only time a whisper will out damage you is when you run out of ammo

Though it would probably be the most powerful weapon in the secondary slot especially with special ammo.

I agree. Darci should be in the middle slot. If Silicon Neuroma is moving to the top a work around could be an Energy scout in the second slot and a shotgun or bow in the third. IDK, I guess we’ll see based on what the new weapons are like.
