Why don’t people like Ana bray?
I kind of like her but I don’t understand the hate
Edit: with some more comments and a a few orbs of upvotes we could make the front page!!!

1 ReplyIn the past she was known as a guardian who's golden gun would create pools of light that would last for ages and was one of the most powerful gunslingers ever and a hero of the twilight gap..... Then we get some presented with a guardian who would fit right in at High School Musical, who abandoned her comrades in battle and faked her own death to research.... does that really fit the narrative of a hero? Therein is the massive inconsistency coupled with terrible writing and the voice acting of a 12 year old and you can probably find a few more reasons why people don't like her character. Her D2 persona and what she was built up as in D1 are polar opposites.

Comic about her was meh. But in-game she’s somewhat likeable I’d say. Nothing too flashy and she’s not too over the top.

She’s a lesbian, idk what’s wrong with some people but when I see a post calling her a “dike bitch” I’m gonna go with homophobia. 3. Her personality. She’s to much like sprout cheerleader. Overly optimistic which in no way honors how badass of a warrior she is lore wise. Basically her personality is flat to some. 4. Hate for the sake of the hate train. 5. People think she’s a traitor since she essentially faked her own death to discover more about Rasputin and the Bray family. Rasputin isn’t necessarily a nice AI and Guardians have a duty a duty which doesn’t involve them trying to discover their past.

3 RepliesThe comics ruined her completely. They gave her a completely needless romance to motivate her for a goal she already had. They also made her into a deserter. She literally faked her death and left the City that much weaker over an argument with Zavala. She's also a Mary Sue. Whoever wrote her character may need to reevaluate their professional career.

She lacks depth and nuance, which undermines her heroics during Twilight Gap. And no, making her a deserter doesn’t add anything that makes her a character. Zavala saying he’ll get a tank for Cayde shows far more character development than what all of Warmind (and its comics) did for Ana.

2 RepliesShe's a dishonorable Mary Sue who thought finding out about Rasputin was more important than lending her Mary Sue-ness in Twilight Gap. I'm not dinging her because she's a lesbian, a lot of people are pissed because adding a love plot into the comic in general was bad writing, whether it was a homosexual love or not doesn't matter.
