Most everyone ok with Forsaken DLC $39.99? and $69.99 with anual pass???

I'm trying to wrap my head around this... I did enjoy Destiny 1 and for the most part Destiny 2, even though some things got fixed and got better, and some things added made you think why? (The jump to a ledge and bring your self up was nice, Faction rallys set rallys with reknown just why?) That list can go on but my concern is on the price of Forsaken which in my opinion is too high for how much was messed up in Destiny 2. Plus Bungie wants more money for an anual pass that will be a small update. That we dont really have any good secure info on what it entails. I hope Bungie can reconsider the price on Forsaken and the anual pass. Just a heads up for Bungie I still to this day play destiny 2 I still enjoy it enough, but once Forsaken comes out I don't see the point to spend $39.99 and or 69.99 with the anual pass. Maybe enough people will pay good for them I guess.. And maybe I will just wait till the price reduces or not. I just wont play Destiny 2 anymore.. If there is a Destiny 3 and I havent bothered with Forsaken dlc im sure i wont bother with Destiny 3. Plenty of other games I'll head to. I'm not a streamer or really active forum poster but this is something I hope is looked at and considered, for the better of Destiny For those that have preordered, and if by some small chance Bungie decides to reduce the price I hope you can get some in game compensation.

  • We knew how much it is going to cost for a while now so most people already got the complaining out of their system then and now they’re in the acceptance stage. Give it a while and you’ll get there too. Alternatively you can always just wait until it goes on sale for an amount you’ve happy with.

  • I've logged about 480 hours in year 1. If I play that much in Forsaken I'll be paying less than $0.15/hour. Cheapest entertainment available.

    • $39.99 For a decent amount of new content plus new raid is ok. $40.00 For two Fortnite skins is NOT ok. 2 f**king skins. Put that into perspective. Free game or not, that is an absurd price for skins. So I am not complaining about DLC being $39.99 when Fortnite skins are literally the price of DLC for most games.

      • Do you expect the developer to make the game free? Give your head a shake. If its too expensive, please don't buy it. Hundreds of thousands of people will buy it, likely millions if you want to split hairs about it. The price is just fine the way it is.

      • The price for Forsaken is fair and in line with how much Taken King was, The annual pass is another discussion. No one REALLY knows what’s in it so you really can’t estimate how much it should be worth. It might add 4-5 new exotics and a couple new armor sets every release id say it’ll be worth it.

      • $70 to play for another year. I've spent $60 on games I play for a few weeks and I'm done.

        • My primary gripe is that (so far) it doesn't seem like we can individually purchase Season Pass releases. Like, maybe I'd like to drop $10 for one of the releases, but not the next one. Etc etc Forsaken is a little overpriced IMO just because of the quality released so far, but I don't think it'd be reasonable to demand it go any below $30

        • 40$ for forsaken, fine with me. I dunno much about the annual pass, so I’m not buying it.

        • $70 is fair. I will get hundreds of hours of entertainment. From a pure cost/benefit analysis the price is acceptable.

        • I, like many others, have already bought the expansion and annual pass. Destiny is our hobby. If we want to continue the hobby, we pay the price. If we don't want to continue, then we stop. It is as simple as that. Either you see the value in the entertainment or you don't. Nobody is forcing you to play or buy expansions. Do or don't - it's no skin off the community's collective noses either way.

          • This is insane logic at best. I dont know how any reasonable adult can expect AAA game developers to continue to function at $60 game price points (which have been the same for years now) $70 for an entire year, promising hundreds of hours of gameplay is a bargain entertainment value wise. I suppose I get it if you are unemployed or 12 years old, but that isnt the market that bungie/Activision is aiming for to make a profit. I mean, hell, I'd spend the same on 1 date with my gf or a trip out to the zoo, or six flags, or your local sports franchise. People happily spend $8-10 or more for 1.5 to 2 hours at a movie, but won't spend $70 for an entire year (hundreds of hours) Yea I dont get it. Its totally unrealistic. Again most reasonable adults will probably side with Bungie here, I know I do.

Yes, perfectly fine with it. I paid $60 for a rib dinner last night, $70 for the largest expansion they've ever done (bigger than TTK) and annual pass for a year is nothing.

            • It's actually pretty cheap considering how much will be included with just the forsaken alone plus there will be another year 2 dlc I believe plus that annual pass thingy I'd say it's a bargain

            • It's like paying $100 for a year long Beta, then coughing up another $100 for the real game that should have come out last September. What a sweet deal, huh?

                • I don't understand why people don't just wait and see what the annual pass stuff is before purchasing it. It really isn't a hard decision to make. It's not like it'll be THAT more expensive if you buy Forsaken first and then the Annual Pass seperately down the line once you know what you're getting. Think of how the Season Pass went, do you really want another Season Pass with the Annual Pass? Hell, even *I* haven't preordered Forsaken.

Whether we wanted it or not they spent their time and money making Forsaken what it is. They are going to have to make it back. Personally I'm just not going to buy it unless I see it on sale at the humble store. It's pretty simple, as much as it sucks to see.

                • Really depends what we get on the annual pass, if it's something like some more story\strikes\raids etc, hell yeah i'm for it. I keep thinking to yr2 D1, as great at TTK dlc was, by december you were sick of it and i would've gladly shelled out some dosh for some new strikes\missions\raid. If it's something like the y2 POE update, then i wouldn't be for it.

                • They won’t reconsider the price. Just because the game launch was bad does not mean they should give out the dlc for free. What I would say for you is if you are hesitant of buying the dlc wait a week after it comes out and see if you like it.

                  • I have a gaming budget; I take $10-$15 / week and bank it for gaming-related purchases. I could go a month or two without getting a new game so when a title that I want releases, or there's a Flash/PSN sale, I don't have to figure out where the money needs to come from and there's no conflict with my household budget. I also don't pre-order games anymore, despite whatever perks you might get for it - No Man's Sky should be the cautionary tale of pre-ordering (despite it actually being pretty good *now*)

                      • 40 bucks is reasonable if the content is there. This time around, I am waiting to see what content is available before I drop my 40 bucks.
