I am not sure if you are being serious. You expect someone that is not dedicated enough to get the claymore now to be dedicated enough to grind out 5 valor resets in under a week? That seems extremely unlikely.
-
Go into rumble with a shotty (perfect paradox) Hold down the trigger until you’re top 3 That’s a quick way to rack up points since top 3 will count for wins which will increase rank gained on streaks.
-
So you assume that winning in Rumble will be easy because certain shotguns are moving to the primary slot? I still don't see how that will let you reset your valor in under a week. I mean even if you win every match, which is unlikely, you will still need enough matches to get 6000 valor points. That is if we assume the same numbers as what we have now. But let's assume that you are right, that some players will be able to get 5 valor resets within a week. The amount of players that will be that dedicated are going to be an extreme minority. It wouldn't affect the point I am making.

Edited by Machine_DNA: 8/18/2018 10:27:19 AMIt’s not about other people having the Broadsword for me, it’s about losing the Claymore./making it redundant. Don’t see why it would anger anyone keeping it around as a year 2 weapon with the Broadsword also in rotation.
-
Claymore was going to become redundant anyways. The year 2 weapons have 1 more perk than the year 1 ones. And they come with random rolls. This way the Redrix can still stay relevant. Just with a slightly different name. And it rewards those that already got the claymore in a big way.
-
Totally agree with everything you said, I’m happy for people that the Broadsword is going to be a thing. I just want the Claymore to be a year 2 weapon too.

Edited by Clockkwork: 8/18/2018 9:29:21 AMWinning a game of rumble is about getting kills faster than your competition. If you spawn with 2 ammo, kill someone and if they don’t drop ammo then jump off the map and you respawn with more ammo so rinse repeat. If you really want wins this is an extremely effective way. Not gonna help maintain a fancy k/d but it’s almost guaranteed wins wins low effort which means faster valor with less stress.
-
Unlikely to be as effective as you claim. And even if it is, nothing is stopping your opponents from doing the same. Which means if it is so effective, the majority will do it. Effectively creating an equilibrium.
-
That’s where skill comes in. Shotty v shotty is almost always decided by who has the better movement. Use those repeated close range engagements to work on judging sliding distance and ohk range. Learn to warlock/hunter skate (titans pray for skating patch) so you can close gaps much faster. Learn to use radar against your opponents by being far enough away that they think it’s safe to push, then close the gap and make them regret that. Always follow up with a melee, it never hurts to make sure. And if you get confident enough switch to the higher impact for a better chance of a ohk.

Edited by RabbitFly: 8/19/2018 10:38:11 AMWell now you just abandoned your own argument? If it takes skill to do what you profess then it wont be easy for the majority of the player base to do what you claim. What are you even trying to say at this point? That you will get it within a week?
-
Yeah no I’m not abandoning my argument at all I’m giving advice. If like you suggest, players realize it’s effective to get kills with shotty as fast as possible and it becomes commonplace then what will decide the difference given that situation is skill. I’m not trying to say anything because I am saying that I the quest isn’t nearly as difficult or long as it could be or what more than a few seem to think. Also I have no need do it on this account since I grinded for the Claymore. I probably will do the quest on another account or two though.
I’m not trying to say anything because I am saying that I the quest isn’t nearly as difficult or long as it could be or what more than a few seem to think.
But your example is unrealistic to most of the players that haven't gotten the claymore already. So it is a mute point. Most players wont even get the broadsword because it is too much of a grind, those that do wont get it until late in the season. By which point anyone that has the claymore from before will have gotten the opportunity to get many great rolls on the weapon.
-
A lot of players I know could have gotten Claymore but simply dislike no radar to the point they decided not to. I myself barely touched comp until I heard the Claymore would be going away after this season 🙃. Though I guess people who play less than 2-3 times a week probably won’t ever hit 5 resets without a great deal of double or triple valor weekends.
