Last I checked, the weapon called "Redrix's Claymore" is exclusive to Season 3. It just so happens that the "Redrix's Broadsword" also has the Outlaw + Desperado perks on it. Claymore is S3 exclusive and will be for some time yet. Broadsword and Claymore are two different weapons. Bungie hasn't gone back on their words, you just misinterpreted them.

Edited by AZAWESTIE: 8/18/2018 2:09:08 AMRemove the weapon name, they are the same weapon. It’s not accurate to say they are different, as the difference is in the title, not the weapon. Edit. RBS is actually better as the barrel perks are re-rollable, so the Claymore goes obsolete. Silly silly.

Functionally, yes, they are the same weapon. However, they have different names. Redrix's Claymore, and only Redrix's Claymore, is exclusive to S3. Pulse rifles with Outlaw + Desperado are not. Bungie did not lie. They're delivering exactly what they promised, which was to make the Claymore S3 exclusive.
-
It’s a very dirty and technical way to get out of what they proposed though. Either way, the grind was for desperado as that was the weapon. Just like wolf pack to the ghallahorn, fan firing to the last word, etc The expectations and motivation was exclusivity, otherwise no one if their right mind would of done that grind.
-
Early access to Desperado, the exclusivity of the Claymore, and ability to get Broadsword drops right away was the reward for the grind. It is technical, but expecting the Desperado perk to remain exclusive to Claymore was honestly stupid. Again, Bungie said Redrix's Claymore would be exclusive, not its perks.
-
As someone who grinded for it, I wouldn’t have if that was the case. An emblem, a gun to sit in the vault, and early access to the better version wasn’t worth the S3 grind. At all.
-
Well, if having the Claymore, being able to say you have said Claymore, a fast pass to the Broadsword, and an exclusive emblem for finishing the Broadsword quest isn't enough for you, then sorry.
-
It’s not that it’s not enough, it’s simply not why anyone grinded for claymore.

Edited by AZAWESTIE: 8/18/2018 2:24:29 AMBut claymore is nothing without its perks?

Edited by Captain Drillbit: 8/18/2018 2:27:20 AMRedrix's Claymore is still, and presumably will remain, a symbol of prestige for grinding up your Glory Rank in S3. It's effectively an emblem in the form of a weapon, that gives those who got it early access to Desperado and a fast pass through the S4 quest for Broadsword. Bungie did exactly as advertised and then some.
