It would really be great to have the ability to take a full 6 person fireteam into patrol zones. For a game that boasts friendship, I seem to have to leave half of my friends behind in most activities. I’m looking at you EP. #feedback

everything should have 6 man limit. not just raid n crucibal. make a team play with a team. not make a team leave a team.

I would guess you’ll be able to have 6-man fire teams when patrolling the Dreaming City, so we’ve got that going for us probably

3 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/19/2018 7:27:27 PMI wish they would implement something that I’ll just call a “casual raid” because I don’t know what else to call it. Basically, it would be this. Matchmaking matches 6 players and drops them onto a planet, not public. It starts out like a patrol, roaming around discovering things in order to trigger the mission, but then things escalate. The vendor of the planet could be running the mission so we hear from them on what to do and look for. The game would have several tasks, locations, and bosses to choose from that it picks in a different order each time. Defend this area, go collect these things, go kill these guys, etc. Throw in a task that requires the team splitting up into two groups of three to simultaneously complete do something in order to complete it. Finish it off with one of several potential bosses. All themed to the planet it takes place on. There could be hidden secret chests in random places. I just want something, ANYTHING, that prevents me from staring at the character selection screen wishing there was something NEW to do that didn’t require me to network externally and heavily cooperate with random people I don’t know. I’ll take replaying the “same thing” over and over again if there was an attempt to make it varied on their part. Which currently, there is not.

3 RepliesInsert D1 get a fireteam of 6 and go to VOG...bam 6 man patrol
-
2 RepliesHey maybe if we put a 9 man activity in the game we should let 9 people play... no that’s silly
-
You know what bungie would say,yep ok guardians 6 man patrols and public events coming right Up. Just to add to the above we forgot to mention that you have to be a minimum of 380.
-
Well, you can search the Dreaming City endgame destination with a full 6 man fireteam, when Forsaken launches.
-
I actually saw that in the D1 Beta. There was a team of six guys walking around the rocket yard killing everything. Sadly most of the community doesn't see the need, so it's not a priority.

5 RepliesIf you need 6 people for Patrols then you really need to go back to playing Mario Bros. This game is not for you. If you need 6 people just for EP? Then you really need accept that 6 man patrols are very unlikely as this has been asked for for nearly 4 years now. Escalation Protocol should never have been made a Public Event. It should have been an event launched from orbit with full fireteams. That is the only real solution.
-
They say they can’t do it, yet, in the D2 beta, 6 Guardians all did The Inverted Spire. There’s video footage too.
-
1 ReplyThis. Then I can have 5 empty slots in my fireteam instead of 2.
-
Idk some people have bad internet connections i did ep once with randoms i couldn't tell if the frames was dropping or was someone lagging but it was awful.
-
Should also make pvp in the wild to haha that would be so fun
-
Been asking for this since D1 day one and bungie has outright said they're not gonna do it since D1 day one. Don't get your hopes up. D3 maybe?
-
Nah, patrols are already way to easy and useless. You can still chat in a party of 6 or more
-
Considering WW2 has figured out how to cram dozens of people into a single social space... 6 man teams are the minimum we should be able to expect.
-
Truthfully, I think it should stay as a 3 man zone. Having 6 players just seems excessive for such a simple activity. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be useful for EP but that activity should’ve always been launched from orbit with your pre-made team of 6+.

I agree the game creates a new lobby/instance when you have 6 people in a zone so should be doable and the fact destiny uses peer 2 peer networking it's not a server issue...it's just Bungie not wanting to allow larger teams for some reason.. The main issue would be keeping the team in the same instance during transfers for example mars has more than one area each area is an instance if 4 of you are at bray tech and the over 2 at say the Rasputin area that's two different instances. -
I think I would take up alot of lobby space messing up servers
-
2 RepliesBecause it takes a team of 6 to kill 10 enemies, savage 11 items, take out 1 mini boss, and scan an area/object.
-
1 ReplyPosted back in September 2014. Bungie don’t care.

I know it might be a bitch to do, but they could consider the possibility of making a separate Patrol node you can choose that allows 6 man teams. It'd be heroic, all enemies would be the same light as the event, but otherwise the same. Also, it would be a separate instance for the 6 man team. No randoms speeding by. Sounds like a sort of raid patrol or something, but it'd help with the instancing issues for those who hate it. Those who can deal with it still can as if nothing changed. Sounds like a win to me. I'm tired as hell, so can't come up with any reasons my idea might tank. Feel free to teach me the errors of my ways.

Bump this!

We have been asking for this since early on in destiny 1. We never got an answer as to why they wouldnt allow it, and i right now doubt they will ever put the feature in.
-
8 RepliesBungie said that 6 man patrols pose problems. They didn't specify, but I believe they said no plans to change the size of patrol teams.
