For the past couple weeks in raids and competitive half of y’all are straight up egotistical
And pretentious. Is anyone else experiencing this lately? I’m only asking because I heard a 45 year old man arguing over childish shit in this game today

It honestly doesn't matter what Bungie does. No matter what they add, take away, buff, nerf, or change, there will ALWAYS be that one guy who finds something to complain about. For all we know, they're complaining just because their bored
-
Every time an new, kinda powerful weapon comes around raid people get super extra douchey. For some reason people don’t think you can beat the raid without the whisper now, and if you’re one of these people, just know that you’re the human form of herpies.

When I was more active on bnet I would read these kinds of posts daily and nothing has yet changed from the Halo days to now. I mean what exactly are you expecting here, every game has some level of toxicity. H2 and H3 were renowned for their trash talking community. and if you're participating in more competitive/focused events then yea you should expect to see more egotistical/salty/hypercompetitive people. Its not a "destiny problem", you get this kind of shit in every MMO or quasi-MMO
-
Completely. Just ran into a dick on another thread who straight up tolda more casual player that "masterworks aren't for you". We're getting so bereft of respect and support in this community that arrogant "elite" players are starting to flex nuts over legendary masterworks. Next week you're gonna get kicked if you don't have the right kind of shader on your ship.

You are always n the internet and it is very toxic. As for the majority of the community it is one of the more helpful you will find
-
Honestly, the game Bungie created has fostered this toxicity, with the primary focus being "competitive" pvp.
-
Edited by Fishyb: 8/16/2018 1:24:53 PMIt’s been made that way, especially with D2, because of bungie. Plain and simple. If they had taken all the lessons learnt from D1 and consistently applied them, it would be a different place now. Instead bungie have without a doubt, a complete business plan that revolves around abusing player good will, hey look what we’re doing! (Year we’re not really doing that, look for the next update). Just one more dlc guys, it will all be fixed if we just buy than next dlc.

Could be worse, could be Overwatch.
-
Bungie loves it they want the if you do not have g horn then you are utter shit attitude to come back . cause they did nothbing to end the toxicity in destiny 1 . so the claymore sparked it in destiny 2
-
You have to know that there is a new person every day and that new person will find something to bitch and moan about the game. So it's not any worse than it was yesterday.
-
Its neither. Its the same people we had back at D1. But the game was ok at D1 and people did not have enough reasons to complaing that much. We were al focused on playing the game and having fun. Not trying to fix it. Also nice people left. My clan died. So we have remnants of nice people and many assholes stayed. So it feels like the forums because toxic or something. But in reality its the same people that where here since D1

No mate, you’re just dealing with players who are frustrated to play the same boring crap everyday all day, yet can’t move out of this game because they invested so much time doing underwhelming activities to reach max level that they’re mainly left with only other like minded boring scrubs who reinforce each others’ illusions. They also don’t have real life friends or much spending power so they spend all summer playing whilst others travel and have fun, that’s a lot of accumulated frustration, therefore they take every activity, be it a public event or a raid boss or trials very seriously, and arrogantly act as if they owned the world up to the streamers. This is bungie’s definition of friendship.

Not as toxic as me after a re-fried bean enchilada!

Unfortunately, the fact that you are an adult chronologically, doesn't mean you are an adult in terms of emotional maturity. I've had the misfortune of seeing (on the job) middle-aged people throw temper-tantrums that would embarrass a three year old. The community as a whole (this place isn't the community) isn't toxic. But you will find members of ANY community that are toxic, immature, and difficult to get along with. Sadly...that's just people.

It's a few things. - Despite loss of players, the game still has a sizeable population. When you get that many people.. you get alot of squeaky wheels, and we know what squeaky wheels do. - Bitter about the launch state. This is pretty legit, the game we got wasn't the one that was advertised to us. This resulted in above squeaky wheels actually getting traction and that resulted in alot of mob mentality. - Brink of new content, hardcore players EXPECT everyone to know things as they know or have as much skill as they have. When this doesn't always happen, its a gap in what they expected and they will usually act out in response to the shift in their expectations. When someone has beat a raid in 1 hour flat as an average time for a month straight, an hour and 30 minutes seems like a big failure. Since they have done it many times, then the variable is the people that they are playing with and not themselves. There are more, but I'm sure you get the gist. This will ease up a bit when new content comes out due to the unknown nature of it. When things are on "farm" tension in a community usually rises due to the nature of gamers wanting to make things as efficient as possible.

If you think this community is toxic try spending some time with 12yo bunch of Fortnite players.... You'll love this community!
-
The Toxic vocal minority in any gameis normally the PVP crowd which is the same with Destiny unfortantly Bungie seem to listen and cater to this crowd as shown by Fosaken the PVP expansion for D2.
-
& yet here you are crying about someone else.
-
You new here?
-
unfortunately it's always been this way
-
Is it me or are posts like this the reason the community is toxic?
-
The toxic part of the community is often a minority.
-
Might be an xbox thing? Haven’t encountered that in PS4
-
You just noticed? Where were you these past 5 years?
-
Edited by blade329: 8/16/2018 10:13:24 PMIt's you. You should check out the Overwatch and League Legends communities. Way worse than Destiny.

I always get the feeling that 25% of the community are trolls, 25% self entitled brats, 24% self entitled adults who act like brats, 25% tryhards, and 1% who just want to enjoy a game. Nerf this, buff that, this thing can kill me so it's OP. D2 is't challenging enough, now it's to challenging. This doesn't line up with what I understand about the lore so OBVIOUSLY Bungie doesn't follow it's own lore. I want stuff to do but I don't want it to be TO challenging. I want powerful gear but I don't want to have to work for it. I also want to be the ONLY one who can get it. Just read through the forums and you'll see all of this.
