This always bothered me, seeing as the Iron Lords actively defended each other’s ghosts during resurrection while in firefights. I can’t remember where, but it’s also flat-out stated that one of the ways for a guardian to actually die is for their ghost to be physically damaged beyond repair.
So why do we just have them sit on our shoulder? (more or less) That seems really dangerous seeing as a single stray shredder bolt would probably do a fair amount of damage to a little robot.
I don’t know. That’s just my thought.

well considering the ghost has the power revive a dead human or exo and even a awoken to be a guardian why not have the power to light up dark areas
-
Our ghost have plot armor
-
I read that as fleshlight instead of flashlight and now the things I pictured have scarred me for life.
-
Perhaps weapon lights are too complex a concept for bungie.
-
I read that title wrong. “Why do we use our ghost as a fleshlight”..............I’ll just leave now
-
We use it as a fleshlight also...
EEEWWWWWWW
Edited by Lyrro: 8/17/2018 2:14:36 AMThe answer to that question is simple. Destiny 2 takes place hundreds of years in the future, after human kind has hit rock bottom shortly after achieving a technological paradise. In that time, we have lost and then recovered and improved upon space ships, a wide variety of weapons, even reaching the point that we can reverse engineer alien technology for re purposing. Even after all this regrowth and continued growth... we have yet to recover any golden age blueprints for flashlights and because of this we do not posses the knowledge or capability to build flashlights. Spotlights for space ships, neon lights to decorate armor and weapons, yes. Flashlights, nope. :P Come to think of it, as often as I've heard the phrase "it's smut" from Rahool when I'm in the tower, when he's talking about his latest "recovered golden age encrypted data" I'm entirely convinced that the "Golden Age" was not the age of technological wonder we've been trained to believe and may have been a little more... less about technology. You don't want your Ghost to die, but if they do it doesn't mean that you can't be revived. I'm not sure where that myth started. To the point though Ghosts have their own shields that protect them. Try attacking a Ghost while it's scanning something or opening a door and you'll see it.

Give us a flashlight! I’m sick off walking around aimlessly in the dark because the ghost doesn’t think it’s dark enough yet.
-
I think it's odd that just before Cayde dies his ghost is just sitting there asking for it. Come on bungo, you can do better than that. Now if the ghost got a stray bullet during a firefight, that's one thing, but just sitting there .....
-
This one has always bothered me, especially since about 1/3 of all guns in D1 had Flashlights on them.
-
Considering my ghost can tank 20+ boomers simultaneously hitting it, I think we’re fine with leaving it out.
-
Because at least he has more use as a flashlight than as a comedian...

Edited by StealthReaper03: 8/15/2018 8:24:16 PMWe need Mr. Blinky
Dat why
My head canon is the ghost can effectively ‘cloak’ itself to stay safe until their needed. That or the just sit in some kind of pouch. (Ours does make reference to ‘living in our backpack’ a couple times.).

"Little light," amirite??

Agreed.. Its one of the more stupid designs and mechanics. Use our ghost, that revives us and keeps us alive in the dark as a flashlight open to be shot by any enemy that might be lurking in the dark. Smart idea bungo.
