I'm a Nighstalker Hunter main and I severely disagree. None of my grenades are 1-hit-kills, it takes 3 punches to kill anyone else (vs. their 1 or 2), it takes 2 golden gun shots to kill a Titan or Warlock who is supering (vs. hammer and swords 1-hit-kill supers), and my resiliency and recovery are both so low it's a joke. I don't think anything is OP about a hunter in PvP and I think it's a really poor assessment to say otherwise.
Edit: it takes 3 punches to kill anyone else (vs. their 1 or 2 **when the Titans or Warlocks are using certain exotics**)
Edit 2: After some points made by people in the comments I should clarify some things.
1) I do not play competitive, only Quickplay, Iron Banner, and Mayhem. I've played about 4 matches in Trials. Therefore, my opinion is based upon my experience outside of competitive.
2) I agree that the Arcstrider subclass is exceptionally good. I do not think that it itself makes the Hunter class overall OP though. Please remember, my opinion is limited to mostly Quickplay, but this is also where most people spend their time in the Crucible. Arcstider is not as much of a meta in pubbies as it is in Competitive, and therefore I personally do not consider "But Arcstiders kill things!" a winning argument in the overall context of this debate. A valid point, yes, but it's not good enough. As I said in my response to itsnreekay in the comments below, "One good subclass super does not an entire OP guardian class make." Also, you can thank itsnreekay for at least shifting me a little bit and forcing me to make these edits, but I'm still not convinced (his points had more to do with Competitive than pubbies)

Hello! *Walltext and some thoughts incoming* I had this conversation with a friend last week. I main Hunter, he mains Warlock but we play with the other classes as well. His PoV was "These damn OP Hunters with their damn cancer helmet". And I told him that IMO the helmet was not OP. Since day1 it had always bothered me that Hunters don't have any practical team oriented skill (In a team oriented game). So, I held this opinion that the helmet was "just one guy in the team". It doesn't work like the Titan gauntlets that give overshield to near fireteam members or like the Warlock drones or the "empowering hardscope team" rift. "It's just one guy". But then I started to play Competitive. EVERY team had at least 3 arcstriders (bottom tree), wormhusk, antiope, graviton lance and a shotgun. Now I understand why my friend had that opinion, it's super frustrating to play against because of the sinergy that the helmet has with the bottom tree. I loved the helmet! It allowed me to play more aggressive (I hate passive-hardscoping lanes-holding hands) but the meta ruined that feeling. I never understood why the arcstrider was so slow before the update. RPG wise, Hunters are supposed to be fast, slippery, tactical. Before the update, Striker was the fastest super. It didn't make any sense. The tankiest super is also the fastest?. Now every "ground-roaming super" has the same speed. But Warlocks are rocketing all over the place. So yeah, the Helmet is strong af, every Hunter that completed the main story has it (not like the strong exotics for Titans and Warlocks wich are random drops) but as you said, one subclass does not make the entire class OP. TL;DR: Hunter is not OP, one subclass is very strong, even stronger with a helmet that is given by completing the main story. PS: English is not my native language, so pardon any grammar mistakes.
