So obviously we can get revived by our ghost in various raids. So therefore you would think he’s there for like Oryx etc? Well I don’t think so because apparently to the ghost he hasn’t seen anything nearly as powerful as Xol, but Xol ran because Oryx was stronger than him and was afraid he would get slaughtered by him? This doesn’t make to much sense here unless the ghost doesn’t actually go with us on these raids.

The ghost is a moron who i would kill but i cant due to reasons

9 RepliesI don’t think Bungie made any veteran dialogue beyond Vanilla.
-
In a darkness zone, you have to be revived or restart the encounter. Raids are deeper, darker darkness zones.
-
1 ReplyThat would make sense if it weren't for the fact that you can literally pull out your ghost
-
Ghost gets replaced with a cardboard cutout with a flashlight and speaker in raids
-
Bungie writers didn't attend class when they studied Continuity Just like the Savathuuns Song strike, Ghost is so shocked that the Hive actually pull light out of guardians and kill them, but he has witnessed it countless times before in D1, like the first mission on the moon "We've Woken The Hive!!!" , we kill a wizard named Verok who ripped the light out of a low level titan and killed his ghost He also got to listen to all the horrors that Eris described over and over again, and he was on the drednought countless times Ghost should be very familiar with the Hives evil, but they wrote him in D2 to be shocked by it, because the base script for D2 was basically written for new players to understand what is going on. They didn't care that it would sound dumb to D1 veterans

Edited by What I Look Like: 8/14/2018 12:37:57 AMDarkness is too intense during a raid, supposedly. I figure in real life terms that'd mean Guardian fireteams would do things like this with a pact in mind: "Don't risk using your ghost, let one of us help."

5 RepliesIn d2 it’s the most powerful thing in d2 bungie has to make the game make sense for new players and although it’s annoying we as gamers have to understand that some people didn’t play the previous game so the story has to reflect that
-
3 RepliesSince Xol is the Nightfall boss this week, run a Prestige with max handicap, Glass, any other debuff and no buff, and the line might start to make some sense.
-
5 RepliesWell think about it, the worm gods do have a more natural connection to the Darkness in comparison to the Hive. Xol nullified our light and incapacitated us just by talking, perhaps that's what Ghost was referring to?
you would think that Xol would be chatting up a storm while fighting us though
2 RepliesXol was fearful of Yul, not Oryx.

1 ReplyHard mode raids. No revives. He stays outside.
-
Edited by name: 8/13/2018 9:58:58 AMhe has no revive tokens , even the ghost thinks these tokens are bullshit

2 RepliesEdited by FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 8/13/2018 12:37:43 AMOur ghost must have gotten memory loss in later expansions?

5 Replies*remembers d1 lore only when it proves a point* Your ghost can’t revive you where the darkness is strong, or where the light barely touches.
a gameplay mechanic answered with loreee! But you wouldn’t remember that because you probably just wanted to shit on d2 (:
3 RepliesThe way I see and I don’t know if I’m being dumb but almost every old guardian died when the tower fell so we didn’t fight oryx others did we are a new guardian
-
4 RepliesDestiny 2 was made with the mind set that destiny 1 never happened. They speak about the taken, vex, fallen, and cabal as if we don’t know they are. This is why it seems as if ghost doesn’t know squat.

3 RepliesOr unless Oryx wasn’t at his strongest?
-
Its just a stupid line to try and amp up the fight. Poor bungie design really.. thinking a recycled story mission boss is stronger then Oryx.
-
Was hearing that warmind was suppose to be released for D1 before taken king came out. But yeah it all comes down to bad writing.
-
I think its more of a bad writing problem instead of some possibility interesting lore. Remember, bungie is bad at this
-
Yes this pissed me off when i heard that dialog.. WE, ORYX and the TRAVLER are ALL stronger than Xol....
-
Edited by XguyExtra: 8/12/2018 10:11:45 PMHe doesn't want to talk over the fireteam, we're busy talking. He only makes a callout when someone dies to immediately let people know. They just wanted to hype it up especially for people new to D2 that hadn't fought Oryx yet.
-
2 RepliesCould be that Xol grew stronger overtime somehow? Could be talking about the Valkyrie + Xol's power

Plot hole probably
