In my opinion. i believe the Raid.report has made the destiny player base toxic the forums toxic and the whole dang idea of destiny just plain out toxic. Even the trials report bs..
I totally understand ppl even i want to know if ppl raided b4 or what there exp is in specific raids or activities but dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnn. The gaming community takes a massive sh!t on anyone trying to be like anyone else in the game. just trying to complete something and move on...
i think honestly bungie should be taking action againt all these sites that promote this Competitive hourse sh!t. even in a 6 man coop raid the community slits each others throats..
Bungies wost idea was believing, that there pvp aspect of the game could earn them a e-sports spotlight. and all it has done via the pvp and pve is tear its own community apart..

1 ReplyLook I just spent 5 hours in a raid with people who said they knew what they were doing and raid report was down so I couldn't look up if they did or didn't. They ran around with their head cut off for 5 hours we didn't complete it. An sos raid I don't mind helping people who haven't done it but don't troll people trying to get things done.

4 RepliesEdited by Justicar Thorn: 8/12/2018 1:46:09 AMI still need to complete SoS, but every LFG is sweaty as hell. Apparently the hundreds of raids I've done since day 1 of VoG don't matter because I've never done SoS before. Literally the last thing I need for moments of triumph and it's not looking good. Edit: just checked raid report and I'm a gold 5. Still not acceptable?

You can opt out of raid report. It should be under your privacy settings when you log into bungie.net in a browser (not in the app) Raid report is a tool that just encourages more elitism in the community and in my opinion, bungie need to do something about it
-
29 RepliesAre you finding the negativity in specific LFG situations? I know there are a few communities out there that look specifically to raid with newer players, show them the ropes, and get them through the boss encounter.

You've only just noticed this now? The elitism in the raid community in this game has been here since day one, hell it was bad back when I started playing this game on last gen back in early 2015.. My only hope is that with the forsaken expansion coming up it'll reset everybody's expectations back to zero so everyone will get a shot at the new raids before the elitism sets back in..

1 ReplyLol I was on gauntlet last week with an experienced group yet the same guy wouldn't rotate to shoot projections(prestige rotation). So me and my buddy ask if he's done it before he says yes, we try again. And same thing. I raid report him and tell my buddy he has no clears through a message. So we ask about 5 more times for him to just be honest and we'll teach and if he's really done it before and he kept just lying so he got the boot. That's the real problem is I have no problem if you are honest about it straight up and ask for help. Don't drag us down though and straight lie. That's why we need raid report lol
-
Similar topic but when I brought up that prestige raid layers where mechanically the same as normal, a guy was trying to shut me down because I didn’t have a completion at the time. Opinion still stands after 4 runs. In the end we’re all trying to “get gud” on a T for Teen game 3 runs is a good measure but just the other day I got a clan through Eater and phase 2 of SoS no problem. It’s the player willing to strive and the group willing to help
-
Just find the right group/clan. Life is about who you associate with. Here is my Clan: Space Monkey Trainees Description: "We are the Space Monkey Trainees. A group of individuals who, at our core, are dedicated to learning raids from the group up and helping others to do so as well. Don't expect to be carried. Be patient with those who may be inexperienced. We encourage the development of well rounded players by switching up roles/positions before anyone gets too comfortable. Overall we improve, teach and have fun. Join us for a game or pledge to the cause!"

8 RepliesEdited by countycheese770: 8/10/2018 2:04:41 AMTo all those want to talk about a free clear, not everyone woke up one day with 10+ clears and knowledge of every encounter. I guess you forgot where you came from huh? I’d be more than willing to look at your destinytracker.com and raid report and see when you completed your first raids in D2. I’m gonna take a shot in the dark and say it wasn’t the first day and NOT even the first week. Be cool with others who are WANTING to learn. I was that guy and I hold my own. Just did prestige eow for the first time a week or so ago and had a good time doing it. Not everybody is a shitty player. But you wouldn’t know.

1 ReplyThe only time it's an issue is when you lie about experience
-
Some people do not want to team surf or spend 3 hours on Argos phase 2. It's just not fun
-
Yeah because we’re sick of liars that say I know all the mechanics/encounters bud ..... gets to a encounter “can you errr refresh my memory... you get booted!! Don’t like it go make your own LFG post. Sick of you scrubs wasting my time and my teams time.

In D1 it was insanely fun to get drunk and teach people to do vog and CE.

1 ReplyI can personally speak for a few streamers who love taking new players through raids. I can name 4 off the top of my head. If you dont know how to do something all they ask for is honesty. They will then proceed to explain the entire encounter for you. DM me if you want a list of those people.
-
I agree with this. Raid.Report makes people perpetuate the “You need experience before you get experience” garbage alive and it’s BS. Destiny is a Game, not the Job Market. People who want experience are excluded from Raids and that isn’t right. I watch Rick Kackis Videos on every Raid and I can go into the Raids with the know how, and all I need to do is execute what I saw. So this Experience before experience is complete BS and Raid Report perpetuates this.
-
3 RepliesI think raid.report is a good idea imo, but I was kinda dissapointed when I saw it doesnt track your destiny 1 raids, I rly didnt do much the destiny 2 raids, I honestly think they are bad except for eater of worlds yet is to short , that lost interest quick on it
-
Raid report and those sites are just a convenient way to check up on experience that players demanding to know that sort of information, would find other ways to check. Things like raid/trials gear and emblem comes to mind. And then it will just be an elongated interview process to just get a raid/trials started. The sites themselves aren't the source of toxicity, it's the players themselves. Then again I don't consider the act of putting requirements to join groups toxic by nature. We don't know the motivation/intention behind why the requirements are there. Who knows they could be sherpa'ing 4 people and just need a 2nd carry. They might have limited time for that particular run. But for whatever reason, I don't see the point in getting upset over some LFG groups that have requirements, unless the requirements are written in a demeaning way.
-
I’m not asking for 1000+ clears, but if a person has other obligations and they wanna get the raid done. What’s so bad about asking for clears. I was like 2 weeks late to doing SoS. Made a post and wrote out my situation, if you have patience, you can find people who are willing to help you.
-
I never use it, but can understand why some would. I went into a prestige calus cp and struggled like mad a few days ago. Most players were not keen on punching/void spawning. Got it done and saw a few emblems pop up. Raid report would have got those guys booted. I don't think we struggled much more with people who had a few clears. I'd always advise to at least try with a team and if there's someone who is obviously out of their depth then they should be asked to leave/booted.
-
I think it’s great, let’s you see who has experience and who doesn’t.
-
1 ReplyHave you had a bad experience with LFG? Just get a group you can run it with. You know, friends n shit. Besides, people have a right to know if someone has done the raid. Few are willing to carry, and even fewer want to carry a liar.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Apollo_XIX: 8/9/2018 6:47:35 PMIf you are looking to do your first completion I strongly recommend doing one of three things. Either look for a Sherpa group to teach you, join the Guided Games queue, or make your own group specifying that you are a learning group If I only have an hour/hour and a half to play, I wouldn’t want someone looking for their first clear joining up into my group specifically looking for like experienced players. That’s mostly what it comes down to. It’s not some crazy elitism, usually it’s just people who don’t want an hour and a half activity to take twice as long because they have to teach now
-
1 ReplyTo be fiar, I only join LFG prestige Raids when the fireteam leader checks Raid report. I dont want to spend hours in a single raid when it can be done under one hour. Dont get me wrong, I have sherpaed lots of people through their first clears, but in my experience 70% of all "newbies" never listen or execute the advice you give them, which is why I stopped sherpaing. Prestige Raids are hard, and everything has to go smoothly. Which is why I am a fan of raid.report. You can always trust what people say
-
Can’t have your cake and eat it I’m afraid.

6 RepliesIf there weren't so many shit players I'd imagine things would be different, but some people in this game could make drinking water seem like a challenge.
