The discrepancy of Savathun's Song
In the Strike of Savathun's Song, Sloane sends several Fireteams into the New Pacific Arcology. 3 Fireteams of 3 Guardian's each to be exact, which is a total of 9 Guardians & 9 Ghosts but something is amiss.
In the strike we see 12 sitting crystals and 2 void charges, and if you look closely, they're void crystals before we defeat the Handmaiden which becomes a void charge. These void crystals are the Guardians & their Ghosts.
Now adding Taeko & her Ghost at the end that makes 16 void crystals.
This means one Guardian & Ghost is missing.
When Standing next to Sloane on Titan, she has a dialogue line about Dredgen Yor:
"Give me a data dump on Dredgen Yor.
I know.
Lockout override Sloane 3-5 Blue-Alpha"
I think a Shadow of Yor was on a Fireteam, and they sabotaged the mission.

If you inspect the crystals closely you actually see that there are [i]several[/i] Ghosts imbedded in each one.

What if some were fat guardians so the Hive couldn't contain everything in one crystal and had to put them into 2.

7 RepliesI noticed this also. I did not think that each ghost also got a crystal. Thanks for letting us know. Oh so far there are two different dialogues I know of for this strike. I want to talk about the guy we hear right when we lose contact with Sloane. One of the dialogues was like: Stop, Stop, Please! You already got my ghost!! I think the other one was along the lines of him going down with a fight. I just have one question that can probably be answered quickly, what happened to the guardians equipment?

That'd be one hell of a twist, with exception to the fact that Bungie is not very detailed when it comes to the gameplay details of their lore implementation. They bumbled their [i]own lore[/i] in Curse of Osiris with tons of contradictory dialogue, what makes you think they'd care about how many crystals are in a strike on Titan to represent a dead guardian? Furthermore: why is is that you think that only 3 people can be in a fireteam at once? 3-6 seems to be the magic number, so whose to say there weren't two teams of 3 and 6 respectively? That'd be an awesome twist to uncover later down the line, but not one that Bungie would've had the foresight to pull off IMO. They seem to be a bit more blatant with their content hints concerning lore implications, like the Arecibo adventure on Mars alluding to the setting of the Warmind DLC, or the Invitation from the Emperor one on Nessus showing the arrival of Calus and the Leviathan.

4 RepliesI think you might be giving Bungie's writing crew too much credit. It's probably just an oversight. Now if this was a From Software game then I might think there was some significance to that discrepancy. Every little detail has meaning in those games.

(Real question) In the lore, fireteams can have any number of guardians ranging from 3-6. Edit: Wait a minute, i recounted how many void crystals we encounter in the strike and there are only 15 guardians (counting the 2 void orbs and Taeko-3 as void crystals). That means 5 fireteams of 3 were sent in which makes perfect sense.

It could be a neat idea, but that doesn't really seem to align with what Yor was trying to do. Although his Shadows seemed to have sizable misunderstanding about his goals, so who knows
