Light level SHOULD NOT matter in Iron Banner and Trials when forsaken releases

Personally, I think this will be a big issue for those who don't own forsaken. As forsaken increases the light level cap to 600, those without the forsaken DLC will have a MASSIVE disadvantage in Iron Banner and Trials as the max light level for non-forsaken owners will be 400. This can be classed as a form of "pay to win". People who don't own forsaken will still want to enjoy Iron Banner and Trials but won't be able to as they'll ALWAYS get stomped due to the disadvantage. I just don't see the logic. What do you guys think??? :D

  • they might try to match players with similar light levels (400 gets matched with 390-410s)

    • One of the things about Trials and IB back in D1 was in order to be competitive you had to play other parts of the game. After a DLC dropped some people would be grinding for that Light Level just so when IB would roll around they weren't gimped. Granted within a fairly short amount of time compared to other RPGs you could hit max Light Level. But without that Iron Banner lost some of the appeal. Yes it is a incentive to play more and inflate the numbers for Bungie. But it also created a goal for a lot of people, one that if finished had a clear and positive outcome. Also right now we don't know if it will be a massive disadvantage. If I remember right the max damage drop off was 20% after TTK with a very small uptick in damage from a high level to a low level. Since I plan on getting the DLC I guess this is non subject for me. But I do miss the grind to get high enough so I could be competitive in Iron Banner.

        • if that was the case could you say that Iron Banner could not use the maps included in the forsaken DLC cuz the ppl that didn't buy forsaken couldn't play it? personally i think light should matter in both. right now iron banner does not and it should
