What The Class Abilities SHOULD HAVE BEEN

We all know (and have seen) how helpful the Hunter's dodge can be to get you out of situations you'd otherwise die in. A Hunter's dodge is a reactionary ability, it can be used in a split second to move away from incoming fire. So why didn't the other class abilities mimic this reactionary ability? Keep in mind the abilities I'm about to mention would not replace the current abilities, they would simply add an option for you to select similar to how they are adding a third subclass tree. Hunters need a non-reactionary ability that helps their team (like the Titan's shield or the Warlock's Rift). So for Hunters: Holding O/B will increase sprint speed and jump height for 10 seconds. This ties into the Hunter being the mobility class, just like the Titan's ability is tied to resilience and the warlock to recovery. The time active can be tweaked. A hunter friend has also suggested giving the team a precision damage bonus which would be pretty cool as well. For Titan's they need a reactionary ability, lucky for me Bungie already created this ability: it's Twilight Garrison (aka icarus dash). Double tap O/B to dodge mid-air. My personal opinion (one that I know isn't shared with most of the community, especially warlocks) is that Dawnblade should never have received Twilight Garrison in their subclass; however what's done is done. This can be mended however by giving Titan's the option to change their class ability to be able to dodge mid-air like in Destiny 1. Warlocks were a bit harder to come up with however I think I've landed on the perfect reactionary ability for them. Hold O/B to blink straight down while in the air. This may sound familiar, because it is simply Phoenix dive, however this ability is much different because it is not only quicker, but you also temporarily disappear while in blink. Now again we can run into a problem in that Dawnblade already has this ability, however if we choose to keep Phoenix dive the way it is, it still has a one up on this class ability because it triggers health regen and you can potentially have both Phoenix Dive and the class ability I mentioned. The other problem is Phoenix Dive also requires O/B to be held, so simply changing Phoenix Dive to a Double Tap would solve this. I think adding these abilities would not only even the playing field, but also open up so many doors for new exotics. We've seen how any new exotic that alters the Hunter's dodge can be extremely potent. (Gemini Jesters, Wormhusk Crown, and now The Sixth Coyote) Imagine if they could do the same for the other classes, creating a class balance like we've never seen before in Destiny. Thanks for reading!
