There has been this burning question in the community for a while, I noticed it in D1 and now it's kinda died down. So I'm going to fit multiple questions in with some theories. The first one, would be are there female fallen? Now this is an obvious yes, as in grimoire cards and in game, some are described as 'baronesses' which is a feminine term, however it seems we cannot tell from their voice or body shape whether they're make it female, as they all seen to look and sound the same, they're described as insect like creatures, they may be cold blooded due to their affinity for caves and darkness, and they may indeed lay eggs, so if it was something like this then they'd have no breasts or different genitalia that is noticeable, possibly hidden in the skin. Then there's another question about the fallen and it's quite a strange one, so they have food? This one is up for a lot of interpretation, as they are quite a hidden species, and an advanced one. But I think that their main sort of 'food's source is ether, as prolonged consumption can make them much taller and much stronger, but ether is described as a sort of life sustaining element, like a good source, and kinda like their 'air' no i don't understand of they need ether, or if it's optional for their growth and nourishment, but ether seems to be the only thing they consume. I may do another one of these that could regard any enemy type or race, as the community does indeed need to be educated and the best we can do is theorize and use the games themselves. Bye everyone.

2 RepliesThe eliksni are insectoid. This means all their junk and shit are under their exoskeleton. I just want to know why they wear clothes over the exoskeleton.

The only resemblance the Eliksni have to actual insects if the fact that they have three sets of limbs and occasionally scuttle. I seriously doubt that the Fallen evolved from insectoids, and even if they did, they've far outgrown the title of "bug", which seems to be only used as a insult towards them. Personally, I think the Eliksni have an evolutionary lineage closer resembling subteranian pact animals, like Meerkats or Prairie dogs, who live in mobs/colonies which consist of multiple different families all in one den system typically with an alpha male and female who act as primary breeders. And the fact that Eliksni still have teeth and a split jaw suggest that they do need sustenance other than Ether and are likely carnivorous. Ether is probobly just a gas with a structural composition similar to that found in their Home world's ozone which they've modified to act as a stimulant to their nervous/endocrine system, causing the drastic growth sizes seen in any Eliksni above the rank of Captain.

5 RepliesEliksni do lay eggs. Variks says so. As for the physical differences, one of bungie's art directors said the females are generally bigger than the males, because they are insect- based The males have a retractable penis. They have exoskeletons as well.

1 Reply<If Fallen are inspired by modern day bugs, then females and males would have no outward difference... maybe voice.>

I once heard the female's have 4 bum holes

I remember reading that eliksni "starve" without ether, and that without ether, they "die choking". I can assume that ether is their form of air.
