Nova bombs (in PVP) suck, and shatter bomb should have stayed.

I'll just downright say it, these nova bombs suck. Vortex was never the ideal nova bomb to use in PVP because the vortex rarely gets anyone. It's easy to avoid it, as well as the initial nova bomb which although it faster in its delivery, it has the radius of a wet fart. This leads to cataclysm being the go to tree for Voidwalkers because its all we have left, and is suppose to make for a replacement for shatter bomb in covering larger ground. And the issue with this bomb doesn't pertain to its "slova bomb" nickname, but rather its unpredictable nature. Throwing the bomb out is basically a roll of the die in hopes it actually kills someone. Its initial explosion turns out to not be very big either compared to vortex bomb, with what it mostly depends on are mini bombs that act like an axiom bolt seeking enemies. These miniature bombs are the definition of "a hit or a miss". Sometimes they will track your enemy down to the ends of the earth, a lot of the time, they don't hit a damn thing and you're left wondering what the hell were they doing. It is satisfying when they do get someone, but these things simply aren't reliable. I shouldn't have to hope my nova kills someone a few seconds after its delivery. Both of these nova bombs rely too much on their gimmicky nature when what we need is shatter bomb back. Shatter bomb was nice and simple. Toss out a bunch of bombs in a large radius and wipe out what was in front of you. Quick and clean. Got the job down. That was what was so appealing about it. With D2 however, we're left with nova bombs that only work half the time. Sometimes, these wacky abilities for a super don't work in a favor and all we really need is something simple in its delivery. It kind of disappoints me that the next super we're getting for Voidwalkers in Forsaken is another one reminiscent of Stormtrance, and that's not a good thing.   • I want Lance Novabomb back. If the blast radius is to small, they could give the Skull of Dire Ahamkara, or Nezarec's Sin, the ability to increase the size of Novabomb's blast radius, like Annihilate from D1.

    • I feel like you haven't played a whole lot of warlock in the crucible. I run void walker and nova because that is just my go-to subclass. I do perfectly fine with only getting 2 or 3 super kills during a match, especially when those super kills are against other roaming supers. I don't rely on my super or grenades to get kills, I use my gun instead. :)

      • Obviously the point of this post is that we have to nerf voidwalker again. Voidwalker mains are still playing it so it's OP. Buff titans, sentinel sucks and it's underpowered. I want infinite shield throws in super and then it'll be balanced. I'm hoping it's easy to tell this is sarcasm but I feel that bungie may get the wrong idea and actually need warlocks again and buff titans again... Honestly though the biggest nerf to warlocks was the fact that every other subclass in the game got a roaming super from the beginning. Tether gets 5 shots and you get armor for the duration, counts as roaming in my book. Strikers got the biggest buff with the roaming super and yet people still whine that they're underpowered. While warlocks got everything toned down and the dawnblade which I have only one complaint about. (Inconsistency with the sword throw and hit box). Voidwalkers were toned down in every way and stormtrance was made into baby warlock with static electricity.

      • You're joking right ? Is every one here a troll ? Nova bomb is literally a CoD MW2 nuke causing team wipes. Just cause you can not use it properly does not mean it sucks. "Oh you can out run it" No you can't. Can't even go around corners cause its tracking is stupidly powerful. "Oh just shot it" Yea have it literally blow up in your face killing you and if you some how manage to survive that you got 5 mini nukes just as powerful chasing you now. Seriously saying Nova bomb is trash is like trying to say Arc Staff is weak.

          • I threw one at a group of three guys in pvp, direct hit in the middle of them got one kill and nothing from the shatter projectiles off the rest of them. Meanwhile a few games earlier I died at full health from the shatter projectiles alone. Something is just off with Warlock.

          • Nova bomb takes too long to cast and the explosion needs to be 3x as big. Most the time you can just jump over it which shouldn't happen. They should get rid of that stupid slow moving tracking one and bring back shatter. Acually they should just make it just like D1. Nothing was wrong with the supers and abilities then.

            • Not every sub-class is optimal for pvp, or pve. Voidwalker with devour and crimson is an unstoppable machine IN PVE! You can't really expect them to balance everything so they are equally good in both game modes?!? Either play a different subclass if you dont like the supers in pvp, or suck it up and be less effective and have fun playing the class you like!

              • Nova bomb is stupidly powerful I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. When a warlock pops a lock on nova in crucible there is literally nothing you can do to escape.

                • Lance was always my ideal option for Nova Bomb, it made me way more accurate and on the spot of a blade dancer I’d kill him far before he could swipe at me. The cast speeding is slower and to top it off, it just moves stupid slow too, anyone can literally run around it.

                • Its seems every other classes super has more radius then the nova bomb. The hammer is like 10 nova bombs in one go. Acrstrider. Although melee. Can. What seems like teleport on hit to you from like 20 meters away. Nova bomb has one job and that's to be a bomb that just wrecks. But it just doesn't. It's just a panic super.

                  • I thought the "slova" bomb was a joke or a glitch the first time I saw it. Sadly, it was neither. It's awful. I, too, miss Shatter. Vortex does have [i]some[/i] utility for zone control in Control, but it's also a shadow of what it used to be.

                  • Problem one is its not a roving super and therefore warlocks are getting the short end of the stick masterworks armour-wise. To my knowledge Bungie identified but never addressed the issue. Two. Shatter was pretty nimble. You were in direct control of it. The arc, bend, loft... it felt good. In D2 it became a passive super beyond your direct control. You cast it and watch it track around a corner or watch it track out into the atmosphere. It beyond your control. You're watching. Axion blobs beyond your control. It is horribly unrewarding! D2 sucks if you haven't noticed yet. Oh, it's better than it started but to take a decade-sized space age adventure and turn it into an arcade game. (Gambit), no thanks.

                  • NB worked in D1 because you could count on the enemy team to be concentrating in one spot in control and for heavy. Now zones cap faster and there is no heavy spawn. The animation plays out too slow to not die with the team shooting in D2.

                    As a D1 and D2 Voidwalker main, it's sad to see how far D2 Voidwalker has fallen. It's slightly better in PvE now for damage but in PvP its underhelming. You get a small radius Nova bomb or a slow one vs a literal tank throwing hammers, a guy that can insta kill you with golden gun, an arcstrider that can juke you out and potentially kill multiple people, and smash titan who also has a very strong super. Not asking for Voidwalker to be made OP or trying to whine, but Warlocks kinda got shafted in the super department (feels that way to me anyway). I hope the new super is good because I have my doubts... It looks like it'll either be OP or trash, but I'll have to try it to pass judgement... Edit: like bruh, who remembers shatter+bloom+nothing manacles+scatter grenades?? You could annhilate everything, plus there was more to shatter than just casting it. Depending on how you moved your analog sticks, you could widen or tighten your three bombs to hit a whole room or concentrated area (plus it was fired from the wrist ahhhhh). Now we get slow floaty thingy where I have to be nearly point blank for guaranteed kills.
